harden is a dumbass, goes from a team that has a legitimate shot at winning the title this year TO HOUSTON. He should've just accepted the damn contract, w/e doe OKC came out on top if lamb proves to be good, and kevin martin is as good as harden currently is so its not super bad.

Trekkiewell, there goes any chance of the heat not winning

Because it's not like the Lakers have Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, and Kobe Bryant. That would just be silly.

last season the lakers had kobe and bynum (who is probably just as good as dwight), and they still got shit on by the thunder. Steve nash will be a real upgrade though. they will get to the finals, and lose to the heat.

you forgot blake or meeks for ez 3's and metta for defense.

bynum has a lot of potential but dwight is definitely better

Bynum is probably just as good as Dwight Howard? Are you out of your mind? I hate the guy, but Dwight Howard is indisputably better than Bynum. I don't recall the Lakers getting "shit on". I remember quite few situations where it was down to the wire. Huge upgrade in Nash, significant upgrade in Howard, I think the Lakers have a good shot at buying themselves a championship.

Oh look lets have a league where there is no salary cap so players and GMs can stack teams and circle jerk each other. I wonder who is going to win? Lakers or Heat?

NBA sucks go watch college basketball or literally anything else

I dunno I thought after he won the NBA cup and the green jacket last season, the next logical move was to move to the houston clippers to win the ultimate prize: the burmingham 420.

I love sports.

I'm a sacramento fan also i love how people think dwight makes a big difference, he's a slight improvement over bynum, SLIGHT. I also would rather OKC would be in Seattle, as I'm a big GP and Kemp guy, Clay Bennett is a cock juggling thundercunt.

NBA has a salary cap...

"The NBA salary cap is the limit to the total amount of money that National Basketball Association teams are allowed to pay their players. It is defined by the league's collective bargaining agreement (CBA). This limit is subject to a complex system of rules and exceptions and as such is considered a "soft" cap."

I wouldnt really call that a salary cap if there are exceptions

So no it doesnt.

There's a luxury tax, and it's about to increase. The Lakers have the biggest payroll, and they're going to get hit pretty hard if they don't make some changes to their roster.

http://articles.latimes.com/2012/sep/18/sports/la-sp-lakers-luxury-tax-20120918

Larry CoonThe Lakers will have a tax bill of around $30 million next July, and in retrospect, will view this season as their salad days — it’s the last one where the tax rate is dollar-for-dollar. Starting in 2013-14 the new “incremental” tax takes over, where being $30 million above the tax line will mean paying a whopping $85 million tax bill.

And it gets worse. Starting in 2014-15 teams will pay an even higher rate for being repeat offenders — defined as paying tax in at least three of the four previous seasons. A team $30 million over the tax line will pay — brace yourself — an additional $115 million in luxury tax.

After adding up their payroll, luxury tax bill, and revenue sharing contribution (projected to be $49.4 million in 2013-14), even the Lakers have to stop to consider whether this simply can be written off as the cost of doing business — and that’s the future if they’re paying players with salaries like Bryant, Howard, Gasol and Nash.

There's a reason the Knicks didn't take Lin. Other than the fact that he is overrated, the luxury tax would have cost them too much money. Clearly the cap, while soft, has an effect on roster decisions even in the richest city in the league.

Still made them millions for his short time on there. Of course I don't think it'd have paid out right for the luxury tax.
