CM Storm Spawn
$40, claw grip, works with palm grip, three (unfortunately preset) DPI settings. Light, works well. I believe I saw Boink or Technosex recommend it.

I'm a fan.

Why are you adding Laser mice? They're awful compared to optical.

That's pretty well negligible. If your laser mouse is awful, it's because that particular sensor is bad and not the technology in general. I've never had an issue with mine misreading or cutting off or anything, on any surface.

EDIT: To clarify, laser and optical are essentially the exact same technology. One of them generates EMR through an LED, the other does through a laser. They both read them in the same way.

I like my Steelseries mouse because it's sturdy and comfortable as fuck (rubberized Sensei raw). The accel is barely noticeable, you can still build muscle memory for it just as easily as anything else. It's a lot less of an issue than the angle snapping my logitechs have had.
There is not a single good laser mouse out there. You can't get used to the acceleration on ADNS-9500/9800 mice because it's not linear but more like a sinus wave.

Anyone have experience with Artisan pads? I'm interested in trying one but their seemingly million different models and Engrish filled website is scaring me away.

IIRC there was a reseller in the UK, you can try looking for it.

Check out the little graphs, they're actually pretty good. I personally like the hayate, because its a nice mix of speed and control. The hayabusa and hein are also popular.

I like my xtracpad ripper xl it's a nice big pad that my mouse doesn't fly across which I really like and it's only $15 dollars. If you're looking for a nice fast mousepad the puretrak talent much better.

I use a sensei. T_T

The feel of it is really nice, and makes up for the shitty sensor. The only exception to this is when it decides to not move. When this happens, I have to frantically brush my hand over my mousepad/mouse mid fight at the speed of light, hoping I don't die in the process. >:|

Clean your mousepad with a damp cloth daily to make sure dust doesnt collect on it, and use compressed air on the lens/sensor of your mouse, dust can collect in there too.

Trip report: went from g400s on qck+ to deathadder 2013 on artiasn shiden. Much faster but once I got used to it, it's great. Really great pad. Good mix between a hard and soft pad and really sticks to your desk better than any other pad I've used, you have to peel it off. Took about 7-8 days to get here from Japan, which really isn't too bad considered but I'm spoiled by Amazon Prime.

I do. It still happened on a brand new mousepad with a brand new mouse. That made me laugh quite hard, actually ;)

The hayate is quite good. Reminds me of a QCK. The only problem for me was that after about a year the bottom decided to not stick to my desk anymore, and would periodically fly out from underneath my mouse mid fight "How'd that soldier kill me?" "Yeah my mousepad went flying, sorry".

:(

Tried my friends recently, felt so fucking good. Great feel, awesome shape, tasty clicks, nice scroll. Sensor is great from what I hear from him. Only problem he had with his is when he hits m5 it thinks he is hitting m4. Not sure if this is a widespread problem or anything though.

Just ordered a Deathadder because I got a good deal on it, does it need Synapse to work? And if so, is Synapse as bad as I've been reading about?

Working with synapse ca be a pretty painful experience, it's exaggerated a lot though. I believe it is required for razer mice, not 100% sure though. Just get it set to how you want your mouse and then leave synapse alone. Also, good mouse choice.

I have never had any issues with Synapse. I heard a lot of bad stuff about it. When I got my DA 2013 though, I installed Synapse. It automatically detected my Razer keyboard, uninstalled the old drivers and updated everything to the newest drivers automatically.

I've never had any issues with it at all. It just sits there in the background doing nothing, causing no problems, and when I want it, it's there with everything in one spot.

I don't get the hate.
