So i've been together with my team for two weeks now.
I know it's not alot but we've done +- 10-15 pcw's/scrims in total.
At first we had our demo maincall, which went okay we lost and won some.
Today he came to me and said i was going to be the new maincaller.
We played 2 pcw's/scrims tonight we won 5-0 (badlands) and 4-2 (gullywash) (european rules).
It was against a team that should generally be better than us.
That's pretty awesome ofcourse.
Especially on badlands the first few rounds my heart was beating like crazy.
When we started winning rounds i felt pumped and was proud we were winning.
But now my question, since i had some bad/retarded calls.
I was wondering what's a good way to get better at maincalling.
I watch alot of insights and i hope my team and I are gonna play alot.
Is there anything that will help me imrpove as maincaller.
And my team improve in general.
Sorry for this long post.

1. listen to your teammates

2. make a decision

3. execute

no second guessing.

Pretty much that ^
Learn by doing. You have to be confident in every call you make and everyone has to listen to you. You figure out what you did wrong after, not while second guessing your current call.

1. get in a habit of having your teammates do what you say NO MATTER WHAT
2. eventually it will make sense to you why certain calls are good an others are bad

I tried to keep the team informed as to what the situation was. Call uber percent regularly, whether or not you have advantage, and other important things. When you keep calling that, it generally helps you realize what your team should be doing.

I was actually thinking of doing something on my stream to help out fellow main callers.

there is alot you can do to improve you're calling personally yes, to an extent.

Really though, to be a great main caller is takes trust from your teammates and experience with your teammates etc. You can get away alot of the time with making a call that isn't always 100% the best thing to do, but if your teammates trust your call you can pretty much make any play work (unless of course its completely retarded) and just playing with your teammates will help you make calls better because knowledge of play styles on your team is a big part in the kind of plays you can execute.

learn the game, learn your teammates. you don't have to be making right calls all the time as long as you know when you were wrong and as long as your teammates are behind you 100%.
