My headset's mic recently broke. Anyone know of any solid, cheap desktop mics?

I have a modmic and love the quality and how it enables me to not have to buy some shitty "gaming" branded headset that lasts 3 months. HOWEVER it surprises me how often I am annoyed by having two wires come out of my headphones; I am thinking about shrink wrapping the two wires together or something.
