So my power went out for a few seconds las week when it came back i turn on my pc and i could not connect to the internet i checked my drivers and i had no network adapter i try re installing and keep getting the same message "the realtek controller was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable" I try looking up solutions for it here is what I have tried

Going to bios and setting the defaults
Taking out the ram
Taking my whole computer apart
Installing the drivers from the website and disc that came my motherboard

I don't think it's the NIC card because when I connect the Ethernet cable to the pc it lights up green so I don't know what to do can anyone help

I am running windows 7

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers in device manager, and then installing the drivers?

So you should probably put the ram back in. And put your computer back together. That'd be a good start. After you've done that, here is what I would do:

1) try to connect to the internet with a different computer/laptop using the same ethernet cable/router/modem combo

2) if that works, try installing a separate networking card and using that instead of your motherboard's network adapter, which I guess I'm assuming you are using because every motherboard since like 1999 has a networking card built in.

3) if that doesn't work, back up everything and reinstall windows.

3.1) if you don't want to reinstall windows, you can fiddle around with device and network settings and blah blah blah for 3 hours until you give up in frustration.

When stuff like this happens to me there are two choices. One, I could spend hours and days trying to figure out the issue all the while not having a computer and going through tons of frustration. Two, you can take it to a computer repair place, pay them some money to figure it out in a couple of hours, and have your solution right there.

Take it to Staples. They have a tech support area.

You can try a cheap PCIE networking card, see if that helps. It's often a good idea to use a seperate networking card anyways, since they're dirt cheap and it frees up some resources.

So beside paying someone else and buying a new network card is there another way I can do it I am a little tight on cash at the moment so that won't be good for a while

I would recommend you try http://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport, I've never used it but I think there are more people there with computer experience compared to these fourms... Good Luck!
