You have nothing to be insecure about, you are beautiful.

I got that error and all I had to do was restart my game. Haven't seen it again since.

I've tried both, updated steam client and validating files right now :/

The only other thing I can think of trying is starting up your game with -insecure mode and then see what happens. Then, take it out and try starting up your game again and hope it fixes.

If you're really desperate and your validate doesn't work, do a fresh reinstall.

I had the same thing from this update, it was either the update or lawena.

Run regedit and delete folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Source\tf

Alright, I've done everything in this thread, including a clean reinstall of tf2.

Am I going to have to reinstall steam, or is there an easier way?

Am I going to have to reinstall steam, or is there an easier way?

Disable Steam Cloud for TF2 (Right click in library > properties > updates > untick box)
Delete C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<some number>\440\remote\cfg
