Hey guys, so I play at 600x800 res w/ ~12"/360 and 90 fov. just got a gaming mouse and I'm not sure about my optimal dpi. from common sense i think that: 360/90=4. 4*800=3200pixels. and 3200/12"=270PIXELS/INCH.

So should I play at ~270 dpi, or go higher? I dont use raw input either btw and play at such a low res. because my fps is shit.

thanks!

here's a good calculator for what you're looking for:

http://www.funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html

fill out the relevant fields and hit calculate in the dpi section

From the little I understand, you should try to stick to native DPI steps for your mouse. Your mouse will have a couple of 'normal' DPI settings, and any other setting is calculated by estimating off that?

I'm an idiot though

According to that calculator 270 DPI on your setup is fine.
