I've been running dual monitors for a while now, rick showed me this ultramon program recently and its nice BUT im wondering if there is certain settings i should use in this, or if there is something i can change to run other programs while i have a game open.

example: ill put tc2 or tf2 open on my left monitor, and ill open a movie through vlc player and put it on my right monitor. i tried running tc2 windowed mode and a movie will still be laggy, does this have to do with my graphics card? or how much my comp can run at once? if i have a game minimized a movie will run fine but when i open it back up its extremely laggy or the picture will be still on the right monitor and ill continue to hear the audio. thoughts? suggestions?

I feel that your problem has to do with the inactive window (ie: your movie) losing processor priority. I'm not too sure how to fix that though.

My guess would be the same. Someone asked before if it was possible to keep inactive windows running fully, so they could tab out of TF2 and not have their stream be laggy. If I recall correctly though, there isn't a way (at least naturally) to do it in Windows.

Try playing the video with MPC-HC instead?
