Ok, so I sold a few tf2 hats, an ive got £100/$150 to spend on hopefully a mouse, mic, headphones, and a mouse mat if I've got enough!

At the moment I use, Wheel Mouse Optical, Built in laptop mic, apple headphones, and a4 paper for mousemat.

Stuff I'm thinking about,

Mouse:
g400
g500
zowie ec1

Mic:
Zalman ZM-MIC1

Headphones:
dont have a clue

Mouse mat:

SteelSeries QcK+

Any suggestions on what/ what not to get would be much appreciated!

if by Wheel Mouse Optical you mean the WMO 1.1a (this), then it's probably just as good as the mice you've suggested - lansky, retshock and a ton of pro-level quake players use it iirc

for mouse mats, most people recommend the puretrak talent or stealth (same thing just different sizes) or the steelseries qck series.

I like the wheel mouse, but id really like side buttons for push to talk, would be happy to keep it, but having to use shift or the mouse wheel to talk is a bit of a pain whilst in dm fights, and sometomes i just to to comm during them

tried voice activation?

if you like the WMO's shape, the zowie fk has a very similar one

my current mic picks up my keyboard and all sorts of other noises, like me raging, me coughing, eating and stuff like that.

I'd suggest you to buy the headphones later, as I'm pretty sure that you won't have enough money left to buy decent headphones after you bought mouse, mouse mat, microphone.

Mouse worth taking a look at:
Zowie eVo EC1/EC2
Zowie FK
Zowie AM
Razer DeathAdder
Razer Abyssus(new one)
Logitech G400

Mouse mat:
Razer Goliathus
PureTrak Talent
SteelSeries QCK
Some of the Zowie mouse pads.

The Zalman ZM-MIC1 microphone is pretty cheap, but whether its good enough or not im not sure.

I am using a G400 with a Qck+.
Ecellent price/performance ratio and used by a lot of other players for a reason.

I would probably go for Creative Aurvana Live! headphones (atmo seal of approval :P) and some random mic (like your already mentioned Zalman ZM-MIC1).
I use those headphones on my I-pod touch and they are probably one of the best in their pricerange.

I used a WMO 1.1a for a while, and the zowie FK works great for me.

I'm using g400 and razer goliathus speed. Great for money - about £35 and good performance.

g400 is a brilliant mouse but a lot of people have mouse disconnection issues from the thin cable, try not to put too much strain on the cable, logitech warranty is so good it doesn't really matter anyway.

zowie ec1 works great for a claw grip if your hands are average-sized. push 2 talk buttons are ergonomic.

also another rec for the qck/qck+ (i play with a really high sens so qck is enough for me)

Samson SR850 headphones are good. I have them, and they work well for games (like directional stuff).
