Lawena and Steampipe

So this is just a heads-up for other movie makers, as well as a question as to whether or not this happened for others.

Upon switching to steampipe, I'd remembered that I have to change the location in which Lawena launches TF2.
After I did this, it all launched fine, or so I thought. Before I even got to the main menu, TF2 crashed.
Every time I attempted to launch TF2 after this, even directly from steam, TF2 crashed again.

Verifying my game integrity fixed this, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Happened to anybody else?

"Wrong place"?

I assumed that, since my HUD is working, it's in the right place.

D:

You have to redirect Lawena to your custom/userstuff folder, otherwise it will replace the resource and scripts folders in common/Team Fortress 2/tf which will crash TF2 since that is supposed to be left untouched.

How would you go about redirecting Lawena to do that?

Go to the Lawena folder and edit the tfdir.lwf file with notepad. Change the first line to your correct directory.

Easiest way to fix it is by going into your lawena folder and deleting the file called tfdir.lwf. Then launch lawena, it will ask for your tf directory, what you will do is locate this directory instead of tf:

tf/custom/mystuff

that should fix it.

I redirected Lawena, but it's still not working properly for me. My hud works fine normally in game, and when I launched Lawena after changing the directory, it replaced my hud perfectly. However it appears that the bindings weren't working, and the actual recording of the clip wasn't working. I'd press 'p' which is the key i press to record, but nothing happened, and no images were recorded.

Okay I think my problem there is that I had my folder with my configs, and my folder with my resource and scripts in separate folders under the custom folder. I put them all in custom/mystuff now though. However now lawena is stuck endlessly on "Replacing config..."

Edit: I'm an idiot and apparently didn't give it the directory properly.

Lawena seems to work for the most part, it just can't resize and can't shut off announcer and revenge/domination sounds. But that's okay for now

I have a problem.
When im in an STV, I can't move(WASD) I have to stay in that spot, even if Im in free cam. I am using srcdemo2. Not sure if that needs to be updated as well.

Admirallewhat about pldx?

It is out-dated by 1, 000 years, so it is not going to work.

ikpureEasiest way to fix it is by going into your lawena folder and deleting the file called tfdir.lwf. Then launch lawena, it will ask for your tf directory, what you will do is locate this directory instead of tf:

tf/custom/mystuff

that should fix it.

I did that, exactly that and it didn't work, it just crashes on startup, or doesn't even start up at all, just says "replacing config", and it breaks my config so I have to replace it again. Validating doesn't fix it either.

Also, Lawena is still sort of broken, in that it doesn't always replace your config.
The only way to fix this is to wait for a new version of lawena designed specifically for Steampipe.
I've temporarily moved over to another recording tool (Made by a friend, I don't know if he's releasing it publicly as it's still in alpha).

It happened to me just today, I tried reinstalling tf2, but it got fucked up even more, there is now no crosshair. I can't config my hud, my crosshair, every setting is just the same. Help?

Uninstall TF2, Delete the Team Fortress 2 folder from your common folder, and reinstall it.

Then only use the latest version of Lawena that works with Steampipe.
