Hello, everybody!

My team have problem playing against full time heavy on gullywash. We can be wiping enemy team, but when they switch to full time heavy we just can't do anything and we are failing every push. It has happened several times and we have tried counter them by offclassing to sniper or heavy, but without success.

So I hope to hear some good tips and strategies about dealing with full time heavy on gullywash.

Thanks!

flank
flank flank flank

they have a big slow guy who cant move fast so flank and 3v1 him, if hes with his combo then there should be one dude less to worry about when youre behind them

if hes sitting on the flank then your scouts should be able to destroy him easily

if youre talking abotu last pushes, just call focus on him and kill him first/make the medic multi with him involved

all heavies do is punish bad focus fire/organization

We are playing in etf2l. Direct hit is not in the whitelist.

Alternatively, just pick off anyone the heavy can't support directly. 4-8 damage shots don't do jack in the time it takes to pick off one person that's overextended, which then allows you to outnumber/focus more targets when you push in.

Another method is to get a sniper. Easy headshots if the sniper is competent. Spy is a risky play, but that works too.

What class are they giving up for the heavy? Scout or soldier?

The main thing you want to keep in mind is that they are going to be much slower. If you know the heavy is at choke, then push through flank, and vice versa. The heavy will be really slow to rotate, which means you should be able to overwhelm whatever classes you find there.

Also, the enemy team will generally have to either tank heals on the heavy (leaving all the other classes without significant buffs), or else he won't be healed at all. If you uber into the combo, you should focus the heavy right away with everyone, because once he's dead, the rest of their team should be unbuffed and you can kill them. If you do what I said before, and rotate to the other side of where the heavy is holding, then you can focus down all the other classes which aren't being healed with your combo, and then focus down the heavy last.

Also, someone once told me that heavies are great for winning you fights that you were already winning, and losing fights that you were already losing. Just don't let them dictate the play with their heavy, take control of the match for yourselves. Same goes if a team runs full time sniper.

Losing to a heavy usually means you're rushing your pushes and not playing together. Running a heavy means that they won't be doing anything quickly, and it also means that their flank is going to be weaker. Play methodically and with your heals to use that to your advantage. When you're ready to kill the heavy, focus fire him, and when you're not, focus fire anything else. It takes a lot of the medic's attention to keep a Heavy buffed since he can't dodge, which gives you the opportunity to frag other classes (especially scouts/roamer).

Also gully is an excellent sniper map, so countering the heavy with sniper will work well if you play conservatively and around your sniper.

Have everyone fight the heavy, Or no one fight the heavy. If its anywhere in between you're gonna have a bad time.

As previously said, have your heavy classes focus the Heavy if you're pushing in with an uber. If the Heavy is just roaming on a flank or he has no support from his team (mainly medic) Have your flank classes (Scouts maybe roamer) focus him.
