So I just got home after a long day at work/school. My friend faithfully reports that the AG v Mad Men game was great and that I should watch it.

Naturally, I open teamfortress.tv to see if the vod is up yet (since I usually find old vods by double clicking offline streams) only to see the following:

Show Content

I mean what? Seriously, what is this shit.

Sorry, I just had to vent just slightly, only slightly, about this. I know it's a very unlikely scenario that happened to me and very much not worth reconsidering how teamfortress.tv streams are shown. But really?

Proposal: Black out the results from stats after the match. People who were watching should know anyway, and people who weren't and happened to unfortunately wander in during the brief window of time don't rage.

Thanks for reading. Good night.

I think this is more of a shitty timing on your part.

They show the stats so people watching and people in the future can see them without having to actually go find them on the ESEA page (of which, the stats don't last forever on there). Changing that just because of people having bad timing is not justified imo.

One time when I was making fun of people who get upset about spoilers, I said "please guys don't ruin the 1999 world series for me I haven't seen it yet!"

somebody immediately posted the results of said world series game by game it took less than 10 seconds. It was amazing.

it's kind of inevitable that you'll run into the results somewhere. and even if it wasn't on the front page you would have clicked on the sidebar and seen them.

not sure if the OP is serious or just venting, but if you're truly interested in only looking at VODs, you should bookmark this link: http://www.twitch.tv/teamfortresstv/videos

if you dont like that the stream is automatically starting when visiting the front page:
1. install firefox addon scriptish or greasemonkey. (pretty sure these are available for chrome too)
2. create a new script with this:

// ==UserScript==
// @name           Teamfortress.tv Stream On Main Site
// @include        http://teamfortress.tv/
// ==/UserScript==

document.getElementById("live_embed_player_flash").data = "";

you will only see a black field in the middle. then you can click the stream page on the right side.
i use this because loading a stream takes long on my computer.
