redrocket4Awwww :c No more friday mixes?

The 2 mix a week was solely an experiment. We will do more in the future, but as of now, my schedule is preventing me to. Once school is out for me, they should be more frequent. Think of it as an occasional treat, not a re-occuring event. I can't spoil my newbies that much, haha :>

Additionally, once summer starts, a lot of the sous-admins (myself, Mr. Perfect, Scoots) will be around more. Even if Noona can't make it to some friday mixes, maybe one of us will be able to!

Yes, most of the Newbie Mix admins will be finishing up within 2 weeks or so (I finished today :3)

Really looking forward to Saturday! Hope a lot of coaches and newbies show up. Going to be great fun, don't forget about the afterward PUGs!

Unfortunately due to work, I can't make any of the Friday ones... but I'll be happy to help on any of the Saturday ones!

...just don't make me coach against Eldritch :C

Are there going to be more coaches this week?

*Also, is the IRC client going to be put into effect this week? If so how do I use it?

The IRC is just an experiment as of now, and won't be seeing much use

This was a blast and I will definitely be coming back next week! I really enjoyed hearing each coach's personal take on midfights/game theory and contrasting their differences.

Some feedback though, some games were complete mismatch 5-0s which indicates an issue with the team making system. In addition some newbies were getting impatient towards the end saying that they had to sit out several games. Of course, these issues were already discussed in the mumble by Noona and company.

And on another note, it would be sick if the coaches could introduce themselves and their own player history so we could learn about who they are in ESEA. I would watch their games since I'd be all like "hey! that guy coached me!". And if they streamed, I'd probably check them out afterwards to get more tips in addition to their coaching. ;) ;) wink wink

big shout out to eldritch because he is a phenomenal coach, if you get coached by him in the future be ready to take notes
and to dobb for keeping that q & a up while there was some down time to keep us entertained :)

Hey JCONNOR~

I am glad to hear that you had an enjoyable time in the Newbie Mixes. Regarding the issue with stacked teams, there isn't much we can do about it sadly. Already we have taken precautions and added the "Novice" "Beginner" & "Experienced" classes for Newbies to add up as. However, sometimes newbies are confused and misplace themselves.

As drafters, our goals are to make teams as even as possible. We almost always draft newbies and coaches of equal skill level to both teams. A possibility to this is that Group A will work better than Group B as a team.

Now regarding the issue with players not being drafted immediately. As the night progresses you will hear many of the admins ask for specific classes, that have not played any tonight. By "any" we mean both mixes and pugs. If players are tired of waiting for coaches to drop in and get drafted, they are always welcome to come and pug. Last night I believe we had 3 pugs going simultaneously along with 5 mixes. Along with everyone I just mentioned, newbies are always well come to come and complain to the admins saying they were not picked, or etc. We will make you the priority.

I hope this answered (was it even a question :O?) the issues you were talking about. I look forward to seeing you in future Newbie Mixes!

Haha, I remember playing with you during one of those 5-0 games. I don't think it was an issue with the system - we all just happened to do well together. Plus, Eldritch was an awesome coach/caller/medic.

This was one of the best newbie mixes I've attended so far. Thank you guys for putting this together every week; it's improved my 6's game immensely.
