As some of you know, early college decisions are going out/went out this weekend.

I just got into Stanford, and I'm incredibly excited =D!

I have tried to stay off of Facebook, because my best friend got deferred, and I don't want him to feel bad. That said, I wanted to share with someone.

What are your results? Where are you headed? Celebrate! Be happy! Perhaps, with enough TF2 players, we could meet up for a LAN in college.

Here's to all the seniors in high school! Best of luck in college.

#40 Noona LFT: Scout CEVO/ESEA in Recruitment (looking for team)

The absolute best at everything. He started from the bottom, and now he's a hella good scout with solid DM and great game sense. He is committed (Newbie Mixes much?) and I know any team would love to have him. Plus he's hella funny, speaks French, and doesn't mind MGE/ultiduo/Russian-lobbying until four in the morning and beyond. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

brownymastershredderWhy not? Just slap a BSD or MiT license and you're ready to goI don't think the lack of an open source license has ever been a reason for making something not open source.

True true :( I guess I'm just used to everyone sharing code randomly... But I did find a RESTful tftv API (thanks PsychicNoodles?), maybe we could build an app.

Who works on making/improving the TFTV website? I'm trying to become a better web dev, and I would love to work on/with/around TFTV (since I'm here a lot anyway). Do the people who develop this site even play TF2? Do you guys need any help? I would be totally down to volunteer/program/code if you want help. If there is a Github page or anything I'd be down to fork it and get going.

#1 Ping Spikes on Startup in Hardware

Hi! It's been a while since I've posted, because my internet connection has been keeping me away from competitive TF2. However, I've finally decided to suck it up and ask for help.

My problem is that my ping spikes massively when I'm playing TF2. I can't chat on Mumble, I can't listen to Pandora, I can't really do anything... The game is completely unplayable too, at about 17,000ms ping :( It is so bad that I can't find servers, and I usually end up on locally hosted jump maps wasting my time :/

To try to assess this problem, I tried to ping www.google.com from bash while starting up TF2. The results are below

I started TF2 at icmp_seq 190 and closed it at 247. I didn't even get in-game - this was just the starting menu screen.

Can someone please help me diagnose what the problem is? My network never seems to complain unless I'm playing TF2 (although I haven't tested this hypothesis that rigorously).

I'm on Windows 7, if that matters.

Please, please, please help. I really want to start playing competitively again, but it has just been too hard with this high ping.

#1 Newbie Cup Appreciation Thread in TF2 General Discussion

I'd like to thank everyone involved, but special shoutouts go out to:

Kaneco, for organizing everything, and for allowing me to cast pretty much all of the NA cup despite not knowing me at all.

Kip, for putting up with my shenanigans and inability to press SHIFT while talking.

Ducky, for streaming for like nine straight hours late into the night.

All the admins of Comp.tf, for making it a fantastic wiki.

All of the teams, but especially Heavenly Touch and I am Very Adopted for putting on such a great show.

All of the viewers! It wouldn't be much of a tournament if no one were watching!

Everyone looking to get into competitive Team Fortress 2 (cough Newbie Mix cough).

I think everyone had a great time tonight! I apologize for leaving the cast right before the last round of the Grand Finals - my parents nearly blew up. I wish I could have stayed.

Post your general appeciations here!
