Scholarhas anyone managed to make the quake sound louder without any distortion?

here is a modified quake one that works well. its a louder than the quake one and you can hear it clearly in game. the preview sounds really high pitched but i set the tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg to 30 and min to 100. same one b4nny uses.

Quick question: I had to re-install TF2 and when I wen't to re-install my custom hit sound it would no longer work?

Not sure what I could be doing wrong, it worked before.

The .wav file is in

\Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\sounds\ui

And it seems Steam now made a folder by default at the location:

\Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\sound

And I attempted to also put the ui folder there with the .wav but to no avail.

And the enable hit sound is enabled in advanced options :(
