New Feature - Friendly Rockets Scatter Stickies

I was just thinking, this could be a cool feature to have.

For example, your demo could set-up some sticks out of site on a ceiling and a soldier could shoot a rocket there to rain down a net of death. An interesting spot might be way above the door at graybridge in Badlands, or on the ceiling of 2nd on Granary, even on the logs above mid on Snakewater.

I'd love for this to be tested. I think it would add a little more creativeness in the current game. Any thoughts on this? And would it even be possible to implement via plugin or etc.?

That would be abused a lot by trolls ruining traps.

Its an interesting idea, but wont be overly useful in comp.

Worth a try, could be a good strat.

It's a cool idea, but it seems like it's very situational and hard to coordinate. Sticky traps are iffy enough as it is, and having to coordinate raining them down (hopefully they all fall down and not just a couple) and then detonating them when the enemy team is over them would be very difficult.

The biggest problem I see is that as soon as the Soldier shoots his rocket, most players are going to attempt to focus him down and move away from where the stickies are.

However, this still seems like a very neat tactic and I would love to see teams actually use it effectively.

I can't think of any demos that would want this to happen.

It allows for people to affect teammates in a negative way. It will never get implemented officially, though it doesn't sound as if it would be too hard to implement as a sourcemod or something.

I guess it's true that friendly soldiers might actually fuck up your traps, but it would be a cool idea. Plus, I would doubt your teammates would try to troll you in a match. :P

How situational do you think this could be? I don't think that much, sticky traps are iffy now because you can't hide them well enough before someone figures where they are. Allowing for mobile sticky traps, to some degree, would be a GIANT kick in the nuts for teams without that awareness. I don't know, I really think this could change some strats, promote some teamwork, and prevent cancer.

I would rather stickies, rockets, and bullets not bounce off teammates.

would be OP as fuck if you could coordinate with soldier to immediately shoot a rocket after you shoot a sticky through a frame if you know the guys are lit through (or to just warm them up for roamer/scouts), stickies travel pretty far like that.

nice to still have conjecture though, i think a "promod" version of TF2 would probably end up encouraging strategy that wouldn't also encourage camping more like this probably would.
