No grip on DA black, buying Zowie mouse

Ever since I had my Deathadder, I was pretty satisfied with it, except that for some weird reason I have absolutely horrible grip on it as long as my hand is dry. I bought it mostly because I thought the rubber would give me amazing grip but it's actually quite the opposite. If I just use the mouse normally and try to play, I would have to cramp my hand around it full force and would probably lose the hand before landing a good shot. When my hand is slightly we though, the grip becomes pretty good, however the level of moisture has to be exact, otherwise it gets slippery. I decided that I don't want to use cleaning tissues as gaming peripherals so I am buying a Zowie mouse now, after using the Adder for only a few months. I am buying the Evo Ec1 white because I realized that I actually have phenomenal grip on smooth surfaces and I have no idea why. I have some old plastic mice and they give me better grip than the adder dry. And I have better grip on the smooth plastic mice than on the rough ones.
Bottom line: The less rough the surface, the better the grip.

Am I an alien? Or are there others who experience the same?
Does anyone actually have the EC1 white? I read that these are generally great mice so I just went for it. Didn't have an opportunity to actually test it so I hope it wil be good.

You are an alien.

In terms of shape, the Ec1 and the DA are very similar, so you'll probably enjoy that.
I have a black Ec1, and I can tell you that it is a shitload more slippery than the DA. It feels great, but the surface is incredibly smooth.

Now, the white version is a completely glossy plastic, and supposedly even more slippery. If that's what you're into, then you are in luck. I couldn't imagine using it though.

I used the steelseries sensei, and it stopped working after a few months. Was just fine before that.

Can someone bring up that old image of the mouse tiers?

There's a rubber grip on the sides? I recently got a DA, and there's rubber under it if that's what you're talking about. It seems to attract alot of dust with in only in 2-3 days, might this have something to do with your hands needing to get wet?

Ah, I thought something was missing, my bookmarks got resetted, thanks!
Also why does it say /v/'s and links to esreality, who makes these lists anyway.

No, I have the black edition and it's rubber coated all around. What I'm talking about is that I seem to have a naturally great grip on all "slick" surfaces and conversely a bad grip on everything that is rough and rubber-coated.

In fact, if I flip my Adder over and put my fingers on the plastiv at the bottom, I have better grip on that than on the mouse itself (without wetting the hand).

...I'm really the only one?

@picture why does whoever made the poster put the Zowie FK in a different tier than the evo ECs? From what I read, they are the same mouse, except the FK is ambidextrous and the ECs are right-handed.

I have a Deathadder 2013 and the grippy stuff on the right side of the mouse doesn't really have any grip at all for me. The left side where my thumb rests is fine but I always find my pinky sliding around on the right side.

I don't really see what the G400s has over the G400. I never owned one though, so I have no idea.

I have a deathadder black edition and the grip is perfectly fine. Never slips, always grips. Should be the new motto.

Idk, I guess I just am an alien and have to embrace my alien powers.
In a quick test with household objects I came to the following results:
Good grip: Plastic trashcan, mirror, glass jar, smartphone
Bad grip: Rubber toothbrush, shaver handle

I think buying the glossy mouse was one of my best component related decisions ever.

People on /v/ make the list. It's not really the best thing to go by at all. Best thing for people to do is just look up hardware specs on mice and use the one that's the best for them. After all, sheep uses a G9 and swears by it, despite it being "shit tier"

The original EC1's ADNS-3060 sensor has mild prediction and high liftoff distance, it's still a good sensor but just a heads up.

I bought the EC1 eVo not too long ago and am fairly happy with it, I know what you mean about the coating not feeling grippy sometimes.

Just try the evo white version, it's not fuzzy like the black one and much easier to keep a good grip on. I switched to the white and will never go back to black.

my death adder black is starting to fall apart (coating on the mouse chipping, the braiding on the cable fraying). whats the best Zowie EC mouse for a big hand/palm grip user? i remember there being a thread stating one is better for claw and the other for palm

The EC1 is the palm one because it is bigger. But if you have very small hands I guess you can go for the EC2.
