Introducing ctf_jungleball, a map for 1v1 and 2v2 soldier matches. Almost a direct reskin of ctf_ballin_sky, this map features a jungle environment just like pl_borneo!

Thanks to Sean for his jungle assets and Dr. Spud for the ivy models.

Currently there are only a few screenshots to give an idea of what's going on but as soon as it is fully detailed there will be a download up.

is this very difficult to do? i think a nice introduction to map making would be doing these b-ball reskins as I have a few ideas in mind.

ctf_ballin_sky is a very simple map to begin with, and so doing a detailing pass is not much work at all. There's a great number of tutorials out there for learning how to map, including some youtube videos if you're not into reading much.

I would be interested in knowing how many people would prefer slightly different geometry from the original bball, because that would help me to make this map a little more unique.

do you recommend any specific tutorials for detailing? all the ones I see are designing an entire map from scratch.

Fucking amazing map, will excite people more about playing bball. Rather than just plain, bland old ballin' sky.

Would you mind sending me the hammer file for this, or the original bball map if you have it? I know enough about hammer to do most of the actual map making part, but haven't learned much about triggers and scripts within the map. I'd probably be able to start implementing some of those ideas for different map geography for bball which people were talking about in the other thread.

Search for bspsrc on google, it's the map decompiler. It's a tool worth knowing about, and you probably already have the .bsp (playable map file) for ctf_ballin_sky in your own files. You can use bspsrc to decompile it into a .vmf, which is readable in hammer.

EDIT: Here you go. BSPSRC

I've gotten into a bball frenzy recently and I'm looking to play some other maps besides ctf_ballin.

Did you ever finish this, I know myself and a lot of other people would really like to play it.

Looks sick. It would be cool to change up some geometry to make it more "your own", but yeah, I'd love to play it.
