Yes! Here is the announcement on all of our Season 2 events http://www.cevo.com/news/69/season-2-registration-opens-with-9-free-to-play-events-over-4k-in-cash-prizes/

We'll have additional announcements about the 6v6 and Highlander events posted on Monday.

We understand that our first season was not without problems and we've done our best to address any technical issues that we were having in the first few weeks of the season. We've also added over $850 in cash and prizes to our 6v6 event to encourage participation. Best of all, registration is completely FREE.

As always, let me know if you have any questions, comments, or feedback and I'll do my best to get back to you ASAP.

What's the default match time for CEVO? Hoping it's not Monday night like all of the other leagues I can't play in.

Yeah, for HL it's looking like an either/or sort of situation, unless you stack matches on top of each other.

We're going to move our default time for the Highlander event on Mondays to 7:00 PM CDT (UGC = 8:30 PM) so that teams with UGC matches can play both if they'd like. Teams can also schedule matches for alternate days using our scheduling system if both teams can come to an agreement.

Season 1 did not have a cash prize because it was the first season, and they were just testing the community's response.

I'm really happy there's CEVO HL now, but 8:30 on a Monday is interfering with UGC, I think a day other than Monday would be much better for teams who are in UGC and in CEVO, because a lot of teams will be discouraged to participate (if the time stays on Monday)

I'm signing my ESEA team up, and I encourage everyone else to do the same. I know it can be difficult to manage 3 matches a week, but if you at least try to play your CEVO match, you'll help their community.

As far as I'm concerned, CEVO is much more interested in TF2 than ESEA is - the fact that they don't have a LAN is probably the biggest reason they haven't taken over. Regardless, I'd like to see them grow.

or atleast have it so teams can schedule matches on a different day other then monday. Usually having a set day like this is a bad idea.I'd much rather find a pre-game scrim for my monday match instead of playing my cevo match that might have a different map and my team isn't really going to be warmed up for the actual map(s) we're going to be playing.

Making it either other then monday for highlander or making it so all teams need to decide what day they should play would be a better choice. Because you can set your cevo match on a day you'd usually just scrim on so you wouldn't be interfering with much.

Yes cevo has a hl league but the thing is people still want to play ugc because 90% of the competition will still be there. Although I think ugc is complete shit and cevo could turn out to be the next best thing for highlander, just one season for hl isn't going to do much.

So, is CEVO Open equivalent to ESEA-O? I play UGC Plat 6's, so would I be at a disadvantage? Really interested in trying out a new league that takes 6's sort of seriously at least.

We're going to set our default time 1.5 hours before the UGC default time to do our best to avoid conflict. In addition to this, teams are encouraged to use our automated scheduling system to play their matches any other day/time before the deadline.

7pm seems a bit early (west coast is just getting home from work or eating dinner).

Why not move highlander to Tuesday at 8:30pm central and 6v6 to Wednesday at 8:30pm central? That way HL teams can play in both UGC and CEVO if they so choose.

Also does CEVO have their own server solution, or are we expected to use poorly configured personal servers again?

It's diverse because some better players mess around in it with off classes and such, but I would say cumulatively it's lower skilled than open.

It's the equivalent to ESEA-O in that anybody can play it

Just wanted to give this thread a quick bump (hopefully that's okay). Registration is open until Thursday, May 30th.

You can register for the 6v6 event with over $850 in prizes @ http://www.cevo.com/event/tf2-season2-6v6/ and the Highlander event @ http://www.cevo.com/event/tf2-season2-9v9/home/ both are FREE to play.

We're always looking for ideas on how we can improve our events, so if you have any suggestions or feedback, please don't hesitate to post below.

Thanks,
CEVO|Pipher

Have you guys considered putting the 6v6 games on Wednesday instead of Thursday to allow a simpler transition for players to compete in it? When is the deadline for turning in game info?

Also where are the general ingame rules? I mean whitelists, specific measures to win a game, class limits...I wish there was a simpler way to find these.

We have the 6v6 matches set by default to Thursday night, but teams are encouraged to play their matches on alternate days if both teams agree using our match communication thread. Teams can report their scores any time before Friday of each week, but at least for the regular season, if teams need extensions we are usually more than willing to accommodate them.

We haven't released the updated Season 2 ruleset yet (which is why you can't find it), but we should have it available early next week on the event page @ http://www.cevo.com/event/tf2-season2-6v6/.
