This game is probably the worst thing to happen to me in the whole of my life. The fact that every day I play it, just to see snails pace results, make me feel like shit and also makes me want to continue playing. As I'm reading in this thread, a good number of people haven't done well in school, probably and most likely directly correlating to tf2. Throughout my whole freshman year, I had
A GPA of 2.1 average. Skipped all my homework and everything else for this.

Not trying to sound like a fucking nerd but, if you enjoy this game too much, it will consume the shit out of you. This probably happens with all popular games, but tf2 seems to have the most effect on me personally. Honestly, seeing what this game's effect on me is, it's really insane to keep playing.

I mean, through a logical perspective, if the game makes me pissed 75% of the time, and slowly turns my life to shit, why play it?

Fucking noona making me a reflective and emotional shit

Biggest Regret:

Most likely making my parents have such high expectations of me. This leads to any point drop in school to be the end of the world. I have a 100 average in math class and they blow it off like it's nothing, a little appreciation goes a long way but they don't see that. So, I'm stuck with a 4.0 GPA in highschool and playing vidya games without my parents caring. :(

P.S. They're the stereotypical "tark to me wen u doctur." kinda Asians, so yeah...

I would just like to point out that none of you are even going to remember/care about all the melodramatic crap when you're older. You'll have changed into a whole new person many times over as you grow both physically and mentally.

Probably starting to play tf2, it's become an addictive thing for me now and it's starting to hurt me in a way.

I made a fake valentines card when I was 11 to give to a teacher and wrote my name instead of the guy I was pretending to be. The woman avoided me at all cost until I left the school. The nicknames were the worst part

yukiDoing something that my father did because 'im good at it', as opposed to something else I wanted to do. He pressured me pretty hard to study & work in IT, but I decided earlier this year (after 4 years) that I was finally done with it.

Going to go University next year, so I'm slowly on the path of rectifying that.

Strange, I have the exact same story, save that I decided after one year I was done with it.

It's a pain too, because parents are good people, and they want to see their kid be successful, but it's never that easy to grind through something you find bland.

PaxMu...when you see a kid grow (learn the alphabet, start writing and reading, simple math operations, etc.) knowing that you were helping him/her with all that, it's the best feeling ever.

Most of the reason I want to teach is exactly that. I can make a living by not scheming people out of their money but by helping them? Count me in.

kuzaI would just like to point out that none of you are even going to remember/care about all the melodramatic crap when you're older. You'll have changed into a whole new person many times over as you grow both physically and mentally.

That's not necessarily true. A lot of people will remember these things BECAUSE they have changed into new people. Ive seen that happen with some of my personal friends.

My Biggest Regret:
Not being able to put as much time into this game as I would like to. My parents have put a lot of stress onto me to be able to get into a good college, and therefore, all videogames are seen as a distraction, while in reality I just want to get away from school work for a little. It pisses me off because my dad is only a highschool graduate with a C-average and my mom went to a small college in her hometown. They never see all the success I have in school, only the grades when they drop 1 point. It pisses me off but I only have one more year with them.

Oh you'll remember it, you just won't care about it since you'll know you're a different person now. Which will happen with or without the personal drama.

This. I wish I had done some stupid stuff earlier because now I don't hear a word out kg them about my grades unless its negative reinforcement. They take my 4.6 for granted. On a similar note, I regret waiting until noe to chill out about my grades, because they monitor it like I'm a prisoner, and some days I feel like I am. It's gotten to the point where I have some serious emotional problems because I can't impress my parents and the last time I heard praise out of them was too long ago.

Back in like 2nd grade I was hanging out with one of my best friends at the time at his house. His uncle, who was super cool (one of the people that got me into gaming), took us to Toys R Us to pick out just one toy, his treat. I scoured and scoured that store for the one awesome toy. Ended up picking out an expensive Jurassic Park dinosaur action figure (looked so sweet). My friend, on the other hand, found a bin of clearance Resident Evil action figures. Since they were so cheap, his uncle let him get a bunch. I thought I got the best toy just because it was more expensive. We then went home to eagerly play with our toys. Soon as I had that $10 dinosaur in my hand, I knew I made a terrible mistake. Sure it was cool, but what could I do with just one dinosaur? My friend was now playing out scenes from Resident Evil with his fucking awesome zombies and shit. I tossed my dinosaur aside and we played with RE toys all day. I definitely learned my lesson.

No, its not my biggest regret, but its one I feel has affected who I am today more than any other.

Not getting into cars when I was younger.

I love cars, but it's purely from a spectator's standpoint. Can't drive, don't really know how they work.

I'm jealous of this guy:

Going to a different high school than all my friends in middle school did, staying at that high school after realizing I seriously loathed it, not keeping in contact with most of my friends from middle school after as well, not being able to see my best friend more before he died, and probably acting like a faggot on FA many moons ago.

Slightly minor regrets other than that: Dropping out of college (minor since I'm going back now), Not asking out amy in 8th grade, quitting soccer, never being more serious about drawing.

Drinking a lot in high school. I'm still in highschool, but from late 8th grade through my freshmen year I did a lot of heavy drinking with the wrong crowd. I made a lot of stupid mistakes due to this.

I didn't apply to more universities, instead settling for a mid-high tier private university where although I've met a bunch of great people and made many lifelong friends, the support wasn't there in my first few years and i sort of fucked up, =/. At least I didn't flunk out though, right?

Also, while I love[d] this game, I probably spent too much time on it the past 3 years. Again, while I've made many friends here, I didn't cultivate enough relationships with the people that I see on a regular basis. It also hurt my academics a lot which is a pain when my parents and I are spending a shitload of money on my future. Instead of being a part of my life, TF2 was and it probably shouldn't have been.

Oh, playing so much TF2 also really killed any time I had to put into other hobbies and stuff which made me a pretty boring person in meatspace.

I regret ever having the thought of suicide life is way to beautiful to waste it. Especially because you only have one life #yohol, not to mention the fact that no matter how insignificant you think you are your death will affect someone.

Switching my major to physics is my biggest regret. Most difficult major there is in my opinion, and I flopped big time. It's now delaying my CS degree by a year.

Existing in the New York City public school system. I hated math for a long time because it wasn't easy for me to grasp and every teacher I had didn't feel like actually teaching the material and instead prepped us for the NYS Regents exam which in reality is a fucking joke in terms of actual mathematics. I haven't had to take any remedial courses but I'm stuck learning Precalculus in my first semester at my new college as a CS major. I was taking it at my community college but just going to put this out there fuck you Abe Mantell just because you teach everything up to and past Calc 3 doesn't mean you use later mathematics concepts to teach Precalculus.

For TF2, I regret not putting in experience time. I was part of a pug group that formed into a few teams years ago, and I got left behind when I went to go work upstate at my old sleepaway camp. When I got back everyone had moved upward and onward, and I dropped most hope of finding a team and just stomped pubs for a long time.
