Which settings affect my cpu?

So I have a pretty awful processor but a decent graphics card. I use Chris' dx9 fps config (and dxlevel 95). I'm curious as to which graphical settings and what not affect cpu usage. I'd like to keep the things in the fps config that help my cpu while keeping the graphics relatively decent. Basically I'd like to know which settings in Chris' fps configs and the ingame settings affect my cpu and which affect my gpu.

it's a source engine game so nearly all the graphical settings will affect your cpu

You can turn up texture quality (mat_picmip), anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, and screen resolution. For everything else you'll simply want to use trial and error to see if the IQ gained is worth the performance lost.

Theoretically, increasing most video settings should offload some work from your CPU to your GPU and net you some performance gain depending on how good your GPU is but I've tried it a long while ago (Even when TF2 wasn't as bad with optimization but still pretty bad) and it didn't work out for me.
