i've grown tired of the issues that the killer network software brings in order for me to use my motherboard's built-in network nic so i bought a standalone pci network card the other day, but i can't get it to be detected by windows

the card is properly installed in the pci slot, when i connect an ethernet cable to it the green led for 100 mb/s connection lights up, but whenever i try to install any software drivers for it, they install but the card won't be found and the realtek installer software will prompt me with "the realtek network controller was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable"

i've tried leaving the network cable plugged in, i've tried using multiple versions of installation software, both online and offline, i've tried defaulting my bios settings, and i've tried mounting the card in a different pci slot

i know there's nothing wrong with any of my pc hardware so i'm not going to unseat all my ram or clear my cmos like i see a lot of guides saying (which 99% of the responses to say none of that actually works)

if anyone here is any sort-of it guru and can help me i would greatly appreciate it, i just really want the card to work because i'm sick of having issues with this built-in network nic
