Svchost.exe taking up way too much memory???

Whenever I start my computer, a process called svchost.exe has started taking up 1.5+ GB on my computer when it normally should only be taking up like 0.2 at the most. I looked in my resource monitor and it says the svschost that is taking up most of the memory is called "netservs" or something like that. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'll try to post screenshots in a bit

I don't think so, I recently had to reinstall windows on my computer and wipe the hard drive, so my computer has been downloading a lot of updates and stuff over the past couple of days, but in the article it says

In this situation, after the computer runs for a while, you experience high memory usage by the Svchost.exe process.

For me it happens as soon as I startup my computer, and the only way I can get rid of it is by stopping the process in resource monitor a few times until it stops taking up so much memory.

Google around a bit.. found this page which seems helpful. It taught me something I didn't know about the Task Manager, which is that you can right click a process to view what services it's connected to. Might help you pin down what's going on.

Stop the Windows Update service, I don't know why it happens.
When you're not using your PC open Windows Update and let it update normally.

I had this happen, too. Afraid a clean install of Windows was the only solution :(

Not sure if you've already fixed this but I went through this 4-5 days ago and it usually is a problem with the update service "wuauserv". Installing kb3102810 seemingly fixed the memory problem.

I either still had a problem installing the updates or I just wasn't patient enough because they were stuck at 0% for a while. I tried the microsoftfixit50202.msi fix and a troubleshooter. Finally got everything fixed and installed tons of updates. I'm not very smart so I installed nearly all of them, you probably don't need to, but I haven't had any problems so far and updates install right away now. Also tried the "delete everything in softwaredistribution" fix so not sure what ultimately fixed the installing of updates, but it's fixed as of right now.
