visitnigBattery life is so crappy on a s2 skyrocket even with a rooted phone and proper firmware, I have to recharge it everyday even under moderate use. But I am curious to how long does it last for the s3 owners?

turn off gmail sync and any other sync functions you dont need and download titanium pro and freeze all the DRM files

About getting a case, if you do get one, get Otter Box. I find it silly that people buy shitty cases that don't protect their phones. If you're worried about bulk Otter Box offers a commuter case (instead of defender). My Droid Razr has survived many a drop with it.

If you're planning on doing anything ROM/Kernel related, install a recovery you're sure you're gonna stick with, backup your default rom (right after installing the custom recovery), and read the fucking manuals (and forums.), look up before doing anything.

Otherwise, https://www.cerberusapp.com/ .
ROM Toolbox Pro is really enjoyable, if you have a custom ROM.
Also, Siyah's dual boot functions are hardcore m8 B].

EDIT: Buy the official facecase if you're wearing jeans. Just saying.

My phone went from 100% battery to dead overnight. Wifi/LTE off, power saving mode on. Am I doing something wrong?

The only way I can make it through a night without having to charge in the morning is to end all programs, clear my ram, and go into airplane mode. Ive missed classes because I left my phone on overnight, not plugged in, without airplane mode(but everything else off).

Just upgraded to official Jelly Bean today. 4.1 isn't that impressive tbh.

I love it when my phone glitches and turns into a heater with a black screen. Drains all your battery if you don't check your phone for it.

I upgraded to 4.1 and now I lose around 4% battery overnight. Guess it fixed it for me.
