System lag time

While watching djc's stream a viewer posted a link to a cool little program:
http://www.draebenstedt.de/reaction/reaction.html

The main function looks to be to test your tracking ability, but it also has a neat little thing called 'screen mouse loopback'.

http://www.draebenstedt.de/reaction/loopback.html

This feature allows you to test overall system lag between your mouse and monitor.Testing it myself I am getting between 12-30ms for my system.(60hz monitor, 1000hz mouse)
Isn't this quite high? I thought the main factors for system lag would be the mouse and monitor, and that would be ~10 milliseconds for me.
On his site he had anywhere from 30-75 ms for his tests, so I guess I am doing quite well, although his were from 2006. I would like to see some comparisons with recent systems and the difference between a 60 and 120hz on the same system. Also I am doubting the validity of this test given the range of the results I am getting and the method in general.

i'd be willing to test this if you really briefly explained the steps needed to test it. i dont really want to read his wall of text.

For the system lag I got 25ms - 50ms. (60hz 1650x1080, 1000hz polling). For some odd reason I'll get an outrageous number like 600ms.

The reaction test I got 155ms and 3.4 degrees.

Is any of this good?

if you go to setup > graphics setup you can change the sensitivity

i just set it to my actual tf2 sensitivity number and it seems roughly 1:1

it's like 2 sentences
you hold your mouse 2-3 mm away from the screen

Doesn't work for me. I'm using a Samsung 120hz LCD and a R.A.T.7.

The program does say it's for optical mice, so maybe laser mice don't work.
