TF2_MooseThomasduhtrainYea tf2 players know ugc, but outside of tf2 Cevo is more known
UGC is a TF2-only league, which is why we don't get as much attention to leagues like ESEA which also covers CS and LoL.

No shit. He's saying that new players might actually recognize CEVO and be like "oh hey i wanna play in CEVO" where as UGC is a tf2 only league no one will hear about it besides from other tf2 players.

TF2_MooseTwitchTVJohnCEVO as a brand can help TF2. People know CEVO. People don't know UGC.
I wouldn't say we're unknown since we have over 7000 players in our Highlander league alone.

However having CEVO open up as well would probably help everyone improve their product even more and allow players to play wherever they feel most comfortable

I feel like the majority of the community on these forums care more about 6s than HL, and I'm thinking cevo would make a 6s division and I know more people used to play cevo tf2 than ugc 6s. UGC seems like a HL league and cevo could be the free 6s league

Glad infinite is not the only well informed ugc admin we have posting here.

mhow does adding another historically bad/underused league to an already thin community help grow tf2?

what kind of player would play comp tf2 for the sole reason that they picked up tf2?
csgo players have no interest in it, and with all the superior leagues for dota/sc2 you know the teams in those divisions will both be mediocre at best

growing the leagues that have proven to be worth our time isnt being reclusive, its investing our player base wisely

remember xpl? efps?
all those terrible leagues that launched tf2 tourneys/leagues that turned out to be horribly ran and a waste of time?
how much did that increase sponsor interest or grow tf2?
cevo has lost its relevence to competitive gaming, not just tf2

EVEN if this CEVO league or tournament is run horribly and fails miserably like your convinced is the case, if that league brings in 1 person to Comp tf2 its a win. Like you said, if the fault is theirs with poor management it doesn't hurt tf2.
