Custom HUDs Cause TF2 to Crash

I have been using PVHUD until yesterday when I decided to change it to Eve HUD. Since then my game has crashed whenever I use a custom HUD (the default one is fine). I had this crash about a year ago, but I managed to fix it by deleting surfaceproperties.txt in the scripts folder. However, some HUDs I have installed recently do not even have surfaceproperties.txt, leaving me very confused as to what the cause of this problem could be.

Hopefully I'm not the only person having trouble with this, and it would be great if somebody could provide assistance.

Is it only EVE HUD doing this? or other huds are doing it too?

Every HUD does it, but this only started happening after I switched from PVHUD :(

That's weird, never actually got such an issue, did you tried restarting your computer?
