I didn't want to steal his thread so I decided to make another with specifics that I am having trouble finding anymore. I've had this chair since before Freshman year of college (like 10+ years) and it seems that companies aren't making them anymore. Here is the most important things to me in a chair

1) Needs to be high back since I am 6'2"
2) I really hate curved arm rests, I need them straight, see post for what my old one is like.
3) The ability to lower the height, overwise I won't fit under the keyboard pullout.
4) Unless the chair gives a BJ, I won't pay 300 for a chair. I bought this on sale for around 75 bucks. The max I will spend is 100. How specific I am being maybe why I cannot find one I like :P Here is the picture of the one I really like

I bought a desk chair from ikea a couple months ago that I really like. I'm a couple inches shorter than you and most of my height comes from my long sexy model legs but the back is probably high enough for you. It doesn't have any arm rests but for me that's a good thing because I sit down and play guitar in it too, idk if the lack of arm rests would help you though. I'm pretty sure it was only $65 too. When I get home I'll check what model it is and edit this post.

I don't know what looks worse, the chair or the carpet. I'm guessing you have dogs? :)

Yes, two. But the main issue is that door leads to the fenced in backyard and our landlords in their wisdom never even installed a launch pad like linoleum. So with a Siberian Husky whenever he gets muddy paws, no amount of wiping will help b/c of all the hair.

$100 for a chair that you use for 10 years? I cannot comprehend why people are unwilling to pay decent money for a chair that will dictate their posture for several hours a day over the course of several to many years.

If you spend $1000 on a high-end, extremely comfortable chair that you use for 4 hours a day over the course of 10 years, you are spending less than 7 cents an hour on that chair. It is unlikely that you will find a better money-to-health investment.

TBH, we're barely making ends due right now, since we are basically supporting her father right now. If it was a year ago and didn't have that huge burden, I would spend 300 bucks on a chair. However, I can honestly say that I do not notice a difference between a 300 and 1,000 dollar chair. Maybe some people can, but I cannot.
