So I'm currently optimizing my HUD for other resolutions (seeing as I'm dumb as fuck and didn't think about this originally), and I'm wondering what the most common are.

Just post it in the thread, it'll give me a reference of what the best resolutions to optimize in would be. For example, I use 1600x900 so I've done everything for that.

I think this'll be handy for many people who make/want to make HUDs, but maybe it's just me.

Thanks!

If you've made sure to define controls positions based off the center of the screen (i.e. "c-36", "c14", etc.) most, if not all of your controls will be positioned correctly on your HUD no matter which aspect ratio is being used. However, if there are a few controls that need adjusting, common 4:3 resolutions are 800x600, and 1024x768. 5x4 is 1280x1024. 16x9 are 1280x720, 1366x768, 1600x900, 1920x1080. 16x10 are 1280x800, 1440x900, and 1680x1050.

Bar a few things (like things I purposely set to be on the sides of the screen, for example) everything has been defined by the c-value. However, I didn't take into account the width of every screen and most things have either overlapped or been incredibly ugly.

Thanks for the resolutions.

No problem. I saw a few pics of your HUD, looks really nice! Good luck with finishing it up.

Well it is actually really easy to find out :) Just look into the TF2 video settings and look what resolutions you can choose there.
