rev up those excuses

You will always be a man, no excuses.

Holy shit can we be done with this already? I'm sure that's a joke but to me and hopefully others it seems to be in poor taste.

#16 7HUD in TF2 General Discussion

If you ask for feedback and don't have support for resolutions other than 16:10 you can't expect everyone who critiques to have used it. I also personally don't see the difference between critiquing from a screenshot and from in-game. sure, while you're using it in actual play you get more exposure to the nuanced elements of the hud but it still seems pretty easy to make an accurate generalization like Mr. Slin did. I would agree it seems too cluttered as well, for me personally. It is all personal preference, too, so keep that in mind.

Hey I'm the one from the thread mentioned above about a crosshair font editor, I never could figure it out due to literally no experience with computers :P.

Sorry I'm not of more assistance, hope fog can fix this, I'd love to be able to use konr wings too.

obe_got the weirdest problem. the xhaircircle literally is not working. I have the font xHairCircle in clientscheme.res and this is what I have in my hudlayout.res
xHairCircle
	{
		"controlName"	"CExLabel"
		"fieldName" "xHairCircle"
		"font" "xHairCircle"
		"visible" "1"
		"enabled" "1"
		"zpos" "2"

		"xpos" "c-100"
		"ypos" "c-102"
		"wide" "201"
		"tall" "200"

		"font" "xHairCircle"
		"labelText" "o"
		"textAlignment"	"center"

		"fgcolor" "255 255 255 100"
	}

Just not showing up. It's the darndest thing. I'm trying to use this circle in a different hud, if that makes any difference.

https://code.google.com/p/7hud/

silly questions here but are you sure you correctly copied the .ttf file to your /tf/resource folder? are you sure you have the font defined in the two places in clientscheme? If it's not in both areas it won't work. if neither of those is the problem then i don't know what the matter could be.

rayshanbrolohey rays,
how do I edit the crosshair circle to make it align properly on a 4:3 ratio? I've tried adjusting wide/tall and xpos/ypos but the closest to aligned still is noticeably off center. Do i need to adjust the font in clientscheme.res? That aside, thanks for this, my new favourite hud!

You shouldn't have to edit the font, but due to the way TF2 set up their grid system, it's almost impossible to get a perfectly centered crosshair on certain resolutions.

Tell me what resolution you're playing on though, and I'll give you the most accurate values I have for it.

I'm playing on 1024x768.
I toggle between the 'wings' and the 'thin circle' with minmode. I have wings lined up pretty well but it could be better, the thincircle is the one that's slightly annoyingly off-center. I really can't thank you enough, this is everything I never knew a hud could be 8)

#21 What interp is the best? in TF2 General Discussion
kalhohanbrolosorry for the bump, but this feels relevant enough to warrant one but not enough to make a new thread.

does changing interp cause tf2 to freeze?
more specifically, should i have a script so my shotgun uses 0.033 and my rocket launcher has 0.0152? right now it's just in my soldier.cfg, so my shotty has cl_interp 0.0152 as well, which wrecks my shotty aim. it would be easy to add into my already existing crosshair switching script, just need to know if/how it will affect my gameplay negatively. gracias.

Why don't you try it?

I did, but, because I'm at a hotel (college tripping atm) my (mac) laptop gets like 10-15 fps and stutters/lags out constantly, I couldn't tell if the stuttering was my craptop or a result of my messing with cl_interp. Good to know I can change interp without negative effect on gameplay.

#6 Default crosshair with broesel switcher; cl_interp in Q/A Help
DMLTerraOkay, what if I wanted to use a different scout crosshair, like this one?Blurrhttp://i.imgur.com/XD2xOa2.png
konrwing + pulse circle

And can someone answer the cl_interp question?

that's a hud crosshair. you can find that crosshair here: http://www.sdx-gaming.eu/?page_id=849/garm3nhud/garm3n-hud-and-overlay-crosshairs/ it also gives some info on how to install them.

I'm not the best to answer the interp question: I believe the technical answer is it determines how far away the character models are interpolated. The only difference I observe is when I accidentally change it I can't use hitscan :P. I'm sure there's a better definition online if you google it, but someone else can probably answer it too. Also search the tf.tv forums for interp, there might already be an explanation.

#8 Maybe we should hold a tftv online tournament? in TF2 General Discussion
enigmaif this money comes from the LAN team players themselves, why would the lower seeded teams buy into this tournament at all?

what about a tournament where newer players are encouraged to join?
so newer players donate to join the tournament (not expecting to win) and they get the chance to play against an off-classing top invite team. all proceeds are divided equally between invite teams that decide to participate. then people would want to join just for fun and lolz, it could be streamed, etc. more revenue and it wouldnt take 30 minutes of invite teams' time to play a couple matches. just throwing it out there.

#32 MGE spawn glitch (non beta) in Q/A Help
Jstn7477CpriceI'm still convinced that its a sourcemod problem and not a mge mod problem, since its happening on v7 too, it doesn't make much sense for a bug like this to randomly pop up a year after the code has been working completely fine. Also I've never seen this bug in my own server or any of the popular mge servers running older versions of sourcemod. If anyone has any leads as to what might be causing this or any info, feel free to add me on steam and msg me.

#21 that could come from the accuracy stats part of mge, which is being removed in the next version, which should fix any frame drops on player deaths.

#27 that "error" can come from server lag and other broken things valve put in the game, if you could double check and make absolutely sure that its ONLY happening when players get bad spawns that'd be great, otherwise you just might have not downgraded properly?

The only other question I have is, does this happen on bball arenas to? or only on non bball arenas?

I'm pretty sure bball had no issues when I tried a later build of SourceMod. I watched a pair of players use that arena for maybe 15 minutes without issue while everyone else was suiciding a million other times.

I don't mge very much but I can attest to that being accurate; I've never had this glitch with bball and it happens to me on average of 3 times a game every other arena.
