#5 Medic LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)

Tery has always been a super nice dude and a smart player. I haven't played with him or seen him play in a while but I feel his pain in having to both main call and track ubers and such, definitely gets tiresome when you're trying to work on your own game to have to order everyone else around. My only gripe with him is that from my experience he gets very down on himself at times (note that most of the games I've played with him were offclassing in in-house pugs ~6 months ago, so this may very well have changed)

#9 where was the GC message for the ETF2L grand final in TF2 General Discussion
toads_tfKissakalaThe stream was first on the stream list in-game. That's way more exposure than a post about it.
People who cared probably clicked on it. It's not like a post about it would make a significant difference.
nobody ever clicks this tiny-ass button of a tv on the main menu or any of those small buttons up there except when they get a new item. the boost of viewers only happened when that automatically opened and people actually saw the streams.

Did they change this in the most recent update? I don't really see any problem with the stream list opening up automatically when people launch the game, only issue is that it could get annoying if it was there every time you hit escape or if you close it and it opens up again.

#9 viper lft in Recruitment (looking for team)

used to rage hardcore in tf2mix but has since became more laid back and chill
haven't played with him in forever but he's always been a nice enough guy to have in mumble it's good to hear that he's worked on fixing his chronic angry gamer syndrome

forgot to mention he has some of the best shotgun aim in the game
10:44 AM - viper: like when i was still on the mge grind
10:44 AM - viper: i just wanted to make my sg swap the best i could
10:44 AM - viper: cause i already had good rockets and good jumps
10:44 AM - viper: and now
10:44 AM - viper: i say i probably have like the 5th best sg in the game
10:44 AM - viper: rn
10:44 AM - viper: like not even tooting my own horn
10:44 AM - viper: watching invite players with sg

#4 WindCubes demoman LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)

wind cubes is fun to talk to in mumble and from the few times I rang for tune squad he seemed to have a real drive to improve and for example adjusted his positioning based on how sleepinglife told him to play

windcubes is a super nice guy who will no doubt get better with more experience, and it his positive attitude shouldn't be taken for granted because it's much easier to grind DM than it is to fix your attitude/toxicity

if you don't believe me look all you have to do is play a pug with toasterbr0 aka fenomeno, still the same 12 year old +forwarding mongoloid pugscout that he was in the old power pugs 2 years ago
it doesn't matter how many hours of mge you play and how good you are at shooting things if you don't talk/have a shitty attitude or can't take criticism

#2 I search for a medic mentor in Mentoring

it's probably helpful to include what div you play in (if at all) and what skill level you want your mentor to be, because all I can tell from your post is that people have gotten mad at you for missing people's buffs on rollout but that can happen at nearly every skill level (that being said it's easier now that scouts can chariot you to mid)

Another thing to think about is if you have any demos to review (match, scrim, pug or whatever) or if you just want someone to show you the heal order or something simple like that (you could probably download stv demos of invite matches and watch medics povs if that's what you need to learn)

It can be super frustrating playing medic at low levels and with unorganized teams like in pug champs, I'd you haven't already you should definitely try to find a team and practice in a more consistent setting (again, can't tell from the info on the op if you've ever even played in a league so sorry if this comes out as obvious or condescending)

Edit: it appears that you posted this thread twice a mod should probably delete the other one

#9 i58: Who's staying where? in LAN Discussion

Haven't booked my hotel yet, but it looks like the premier inn is the cheapest/closest so maybe I'll stay there. Are people from Na bringing computers? Renting? I was thinking of just going as a spectator but maybe ill bring a laptop and some peripherals, after all medic class is easy mode even with 60hz. Maybe there's some other clowns going who want to make a pug team or something. Might as well play store tf2 if I'm traveling across the Atlantic.

#1674 ESEA-O S22 Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion
erlhttps://play.esea.net/index.php?s=stats&d=match&id=7165007This match was overturned due to actions (e.g. using a cheater or ringer) by team KICKFLIP. Any rounds that were actually played were recorded, but team malicious activity was awarded the win regardless of indicated round and stat totals.

when ur cheater team is literally named malicious activity and the other team gets banned

#20 Medic class unpopular? in TF2 General Discussion

I started playing medic for the same reason as you because in pugs and lobbies (back when tf2mix and tf2lobby.com were things) there were never people who wanted to play medic. I started off pubbing and found I most enjoyed soldier but once I played more medic I found it fun to try to survive and escape by surfing/dodging and as others have said it is very satisfying to get crossbow kills on people chasing you or save the round by getting an ubersaw. In regards to people blaming the medic for everything I agree that the majority of the time a pocket can tell when his medic is inexperienced and isn't doing exactly what he wants, but that's not to say that it's not much easier to blame your med than taking responsibility yourself. At the end of the day there are always going to be people who enjoy playing medic regardless of whatever bullshit people say about them, but this certainly can have a negative influence and dissuade newer players from playing the class.
My takeaway from the most recent medic change is that b4nny and slin wanted valve to make it obvious to newer medics that it's a good idea to heal scouts. Of course matchmaking medics are going to want to heal scouts now that they get to run faster while doing it. I don't think anything in particular should be done to make medic (or any class for that matter) less boring, changes should be based on balance and not whether or not certain players have the patience to learn how to play the class well.
The only real issue I see is a lack in diversity in weapon selection. Ever since the crossbow got passive reload nearly every medic has used it, and kritz is situational to the point that most lower level teams don't know how to play around it correctly. Lucrative is the only medic who I remember purposely using a melee other than the ubersaw, but the problem is that even if for example weapons like the vita saw got rebalanced they may still be overpowered to the point that they get banned (or at least they change the meta to that point). I could see merit in buffing kritz or nerfing quick fix to the point where it's unbannable and doesn't completely break the meta like s14 lan. If teams ran kritz more often there would be far less uber stalemates and it would promote dry pushing and generally more aggressive playstyles. Even things like spawning on kritz and building when both medics die on mid makes the game far more interesting and necessitates pushing. Some teams/medics only feel comfortable playing cookie cutter with uber but I feel that at least trying out other strategies is important, which is why I personally try to try kritz whenever I see a situation that warrants it, at the very least to make the game more enjoyable for myself.

TL;DR medic main syndrome (MMS) is a very real thing and people need to stop blaming inexperienced medics for the teams problems if they want people to actually learn how to play the class at lower levels
