kaidusIs this played NA rules or i52 rules?
ESEA LAN rules. Froyotech got their spot based off performance at ESEA LAN, and for consistency's sake we are using the same ruleset here.
Hey TFTV,
With the CEVO season starting soon, I just wanted to let everyone know that as of today I am not going to be available for most of July. My busy schedule starts tomorrow with my departure for One Step Camp. I'll be volunteering as a photographer there from July 5th to July 12th.
Since I will not be around to handle issues, it is important that you use CEVOs support system. Urgent issues are best brought up in their live Teamspeak, while less urgent issues are best left to tickets.
If you are on a team that was in the process of applying for moveup, you will need to open a ticket to continue that process.
Registration ends on July 10th. Be sure you have 6 players paid and ready (that means they have a valid STEAM ID entered in their profile!) before then.
Bugs with the match mod should be reported via tickets, but non-urgent feedback and criticism can go directly to me: email@alexvan.camp
I've fully briefed Pipher and Spangler on what needs to be done before the season starts, and I've left things in their capable hands until I return.
Thanks and good luck in the upcoming season,
CEVO|Lange
cage-is VTV covering this? i assume so
We're still unsure if coverage will be flying under the VTV or TF.TV banner, but it will be covered. Arie, Bones, Dashner, and myself had our first production meeting yesterday. Byte, Arx, and Beta are also helping with the planning. Beta will unfortunately not be at i52 though.
I had Uverse back when I lived in Illinois. My pings were definitely on the high side, but not unplayable. I consistently pinged 10-30ms higher than I did with other ISPs. The price was also unreasonably high for the speeds I got.
SAAM_Can ringers be used in preseason, or would that not work?
If not, is there any penalty for forfeiting preseason matches?
Ringers are never allowed, all players must be rostered and paid.
Preseason matches are optional. Though if you plan of FFL'ing both of them, you may want to submit a ticket just to let someone know that your team is indeed alive and planning on playing the regular season.
If you are an IM team (or an high-open team) and want a spot in CEVO-M, send an email to email@alexvan.camp with your ESEA roster and your current S5 CEVO roster if you have one.
MATHYOU brings us to 26 pre-paid players! At this rate we will break 30 for sure. Super excited!

This has been moved up and is happening in 24 minutes! Myself and STAR_ will be casting with truktruk on camera.
This is an intensely stupid idea, but I'm wondering if it'd be possible to embed arbitrary data into the STV feed somehow. Usermessages sent to the STV bot get replicated to all relays and viewers and are also written to the demo. This is why the ready/not ready hud display on the CEVO match mod shows up in STV, it explicitly sends that data to the STV bot so that casters can see it, and it does so by writing and dispatching a raw usermessage. Perhaps this could be abused by a server-side plugin to transmit some extra data?
