The Crusader's Crossbow actually already had a reload speed of ~1.4s before this patch. You can see this in the official wiki's edit history, or you will probably remember from experience. It does not seem to fire/reload any faster than it did yesterday.

EDIT: The reload speed has, in fact, been changed from ~1.4s to a given 1.5s.

if you're firing crossbow arrows at the enemy, you're probably not going to live for very long, therefore burst damage would be favorable over more damage per second

unless the scout's just bad

You might lose that one fight where there's a 60hp scout in your face after mid, but you would probably die to him nine times of ten with the old crossbow anyway. IMO the real beauty of the new crossbow is the passive reload. The ability to quickly pop out multiple arrows during a single extended fight without significantly starving your team of heals could/should be pretty massive.

i agree with this change. imagine medics pulling out their crossbow for a sec and shooting an arrow EVERY time they arrive at mid and having it do full damage and not needing to reload.

this change will probably also make the crossbow less significant as an offensive weapon. when used offensively, your target is most likely fleeing from a fight and will run behind corners meaning you'll probably only get one shot (now with reduced damage, of course).
