have you considered that hl players (who have the wrangler and rescue ranger as unlocks) may have some skill issues if they can't keep a sentry alive when you need like 6 pipes to kill it

Two different points I explained poorly. LnL kills sentries in less than a second by itself, yes HL has wrangler and RR but guns die before engi can react. (also demos can shoot longer angles) Nobody in high level HL has problems with level 3 guns, only bad teams can't coordinate killing a gun even through RR & shield.
The other point is that on KOTH LnL slows down the fights as demos no longer need to walk up, compared to other pipes. As seen in grands, both teams just sat back and waited for someone to randomly eat a cross map pipe. Please just watch one round of ashville, while that being the worst map for the LnL of the 3/4 HL koth maps.

The Loch N Load has been in the game for so long and people didn't use it, i think theres an argument for people just being worse at the game

no, people have just figured out the game more than back in the day. plenty of unlocks weren't unbanned for a very long time until someone caught onto them being viable, then other players tried & made them meta and eventually if you weren't using them (at least at the point in the game where they were most useful) you were trolling. e.g. gunboats, cow mangler, soda popper, pocket pistol, scorch shot, quick fix
