Nursey leaves froyotech, joins EVL Gaming

In the wake of an ESEA Invite championship and the retirement of Freestate, froyotech will be losing another member of their team in the form of their medic Nursey. She has also announced that she will be playing for EVL Gaming next season.

Nursey will make the switch from froyotech to EVL Gaming (picture by Ness "[uberchain](https://twitter.com/uberchain)" Delacroix and Jasmine "[Jasbutts](https://twitter.com/Miss_Jasbutts)" Ho) Nursey will make the switch from froyotech to EVL Gaming (picture by Ness "uberchain" Delacroix and Jasmine "Jasbutts" Ho)

Nursey played for froyotech at ESA Rewind and in ESEA Invite Season 24, earning first place finishes along with her team in both events.

Nursey explained the change on her TwitLonger:

The biggest reason I can think of is because I want to prove I deserve to be first place. Playing with b4nny is a free first place, at least with the position I was in. On froyotech, during map reviews or strat talks I would go blank. I have this mentality of going into robot mode where I turn my brain off and just let everything happen automatically (could be a side effect from playing too long). If I don't get first place on the next team I'm on, it will tell me I didn't deserve first place to begin with. If this happens to be the case, then I'm okay with that.

Nursey is no stranger to the EVL Gaming squad that she will be joining, having played with them under the Ronin banner back in Season 22. Her transfer to EVL means that their former medic cookiejake, who joined the team last February, is off the roster.

With this change, the roster for EVL Gaming is now:

  • Scout: yomps
  • Scout: corsa
  • Roamer: garbuglio
  • Pocket: rando
  • Demoman: Bdonski
  • Medic: Nursey

God what's the point? Win 12 more dollars in invite? If you can make it to Invite finals you'll be fine next season. The guy even said playing with Cookie was fun. So keep playing with him and improve as a team and each win will be so much more rewarding. I somehow doubt a different med is going to catapult this team to Invite champions. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've been on both sides of this situation. Cutting players that I considered friends for performance reasons was one of the shittiest things I've done, and both times I did the teams folded after a season anyway. I also medic'd and won a lower division but the team was afraid of how we would perform in Invite so we disbanded instead of moving up. This was like 5 damn years ago and it just frustrates me that this stuff is still happening in tf2. Competitive tf2 is a hobby. No one is going to make it into a career. So stop making decisions like there's real money on the line. There's not. Form a team with people you enjoy playing with, and compete.
This got ranty but I love cookiejake and I'm frustrated seeing shit like this in tf2.

sorry to be the one to tell you but winning and having fun are synonymous for some people, especially in tf2
