eL cLaSsIcO wins ESEA Season 21 Intermediate

April 26, 2016

eL cLaSsIcO took down dog1 in the grand finals (5-2 Badlands, 5-4 Gullywash) to become the winner of the ESEA Season 21 Intermediate division.

After 12 weeks of grueling action, 16 Intermediate teams were dwindled down to the final two, with dog1 and eL cLaSsIcO facing off in the grand finals to determine the winner, who will also move up to the next season of Invite. Unfortunately for dog1, coming in undefeated and favored to win, they were missing star player liko, playing instead with backup trippah.

The series started on Badlands, and it got off to a great start for eL cLaSsIcO, as they got three rounds in a row to put the score in their favor. However, dog1 were able to recoup themselves after halftime, and got two rounds on the board in an attempt to even up the score. But eL cLaSsIcO swung the momentum back before dog1 could react, closing out the map 5-2.

With the series in eL cLaSsIcO’s favor, the teams headed to the second map: Gullywash. The first half went heavily in dog1’s favor, stringing three rounds in a row to set up an impressive lead going to the second half. eL cLaSsIcO then surprised their opponents by mounting a comeback to level the score 3-3. Both teams then fought it out, gnawing and clawing at each other to bring the score to map point for dog1 and match point for eL cLaSsIcO. dog1 tried to push into eL cLaSsIcO's last, but it ended up being a heart-breaking failure. With enough strength, eL cLaSsIcO slowly made their way to their opponent’s last to cap off the round, close out the series, and earn themselves the title of ESEA Intermediate champions.

The final standings for ESEA Season 21 Intermediate are:

  • 1st: eL cLaSsIcO ($1,500)
  • 2nd: dog1 ($900)
  • 3rd-4th: Lil Chubby Ducks ($300), Snailed It ($300)
  • 5th-8th: Ziggurat Complex, Slammin Salmon, Young Hunters SocialClub, Ravioliii Ravioliii

I'm talking more of the principle of having to repeatedly paste "eL cLaSsIcO" in a news article

Who knows. I thought it was generally accepted that if you don't want to know something don't go looking for it.

IMO, TFTV admins aren't obligated to follow our requests - no matter how common-sense they may seem - because they are volunteers. Regardless, I hate spoilers as much as the next guy, so I wrote a script to hopefully make things a little less spoilery.

Even though I think it's dumb to have spoilers in the titles I can see where tftv are coming from. All of their community news titles have the "spoiler" in their headlines. It's "zen replaces dmoule for LEGO" not "LEGO roster reshuffle". "ixy leaves dd+5abs"'not "ETF2L premiership team loses player". They've been having this style of reporting for a while.
But then again I don't see why they can't just make a small adjustment, and if they don't listen to the community just give us a fair/logical reason.

admin who keeps changing the titles is probably a gigantic manchild

when the majority of the site are vocally against doing this, they change it anyways because they have the power to do so when it's not hard to satisfy the majority

it's honestly the same type of people who posts spoilers in twitch chats imo

there's no logical reasoning to have results of matches as spoiler topics in a place that's supposed to be a hub for tf2, making people avoid the site entirely to avoid matches they want to watch is stupid since the threads pop up in the sidebar as announcements

how is it any different to have people click on an article they want to read that keeps it ambiguous who won versus stating the results in the topic title lmao

it's disappointing to have people powertripping as admins here

edit:
btw hltv.org doesn't have results posted if you go directly to their forums, it's only on their front page, so they're doing an awful job trying to emulate that site anyways :v

"s22 champions? Oh right, I should go watch that". If you click onto an announcement thread, it's because you're interested in the content. You'd visit it to discuss even if it didn't have the winners in the title. You gain literally nothing from showing the winners in the title. It's reverse clickbait.
