Rate of new players trying out some form of competitive TF2 has been accelerating slightly over last 6 months. Assuming current rate of ~3500 players / month, there will be over 40,000 new players in 2014. For scale, about 2000 players participated in ETF2L Season 17.

There has been a lot of work on new features lately, but it's probably better to slow down a bit and finally fix some of the ancient parser bugs before continuing. These are currently WIP:

  • Fix pauses increasing lengths of matches
  • Fix tournament mode resets not being registered
  • Fix disconnects/spectating not affecting playing times of players
  • Use playing times of players for "per minute" calculations instead of match time
  • Fix scoring for AD/Payload maps and halftimes
  • Detect doubling of stats when 2 plugins are active

If there are other bugs that should be fixed, post them here or PM.

CrossroadsI've never really used logs and don't know much about this, but (at least for me) the best feature of sizzling stats is that I can just type .ss into chat and see my stats after each round. Like I said I know nothing about logs.tf, but is that a feature you have implemented? Because that's literally the only reason I would choose one over the other.zooobLogsTF supports midgame uploading, so the log is updated after every round like with SS.

Pretty sure roundly updates will soon be supported in TFTrue as well. Naturally everything can be viewed ingame.

And compact layout currently looks like this.

#80 Logs.tf match stats in Projects

There was some discussion about Logs.tf on CEVO thread. To keep that thread on-topic, I will post here instead.

Langewhereas Logs.tf is reliant on a mess of SourceMod plugins

Currently there are 2 major server plugins around, TFTrue and LogsTF. Only LogsTF is based on SourceMod. LogsTF currently supports more features and stats, but an update to TFTrue will be released very shortly that will pretty much sync features between them again. Upload / help pages are updated with latest information constantly, but I'll probably have to come up with something new to clear any confusion.

TFTrue can show logs ingame with !log command, but it is not announced anywhere so many people still do not know that it exists. LogsTF supports midgame uploading, so the log is updated after every round like with SS.

AllealThat's not to say that logs.tf isn't good or useful (because it is a lot), but for the purposes of league statistics, the simple and concise layout of sizzling stats is much better for stream display and quick references by players and casters.

I'm currently working on simpler and more compact layout for logs that will be an option. Should be available within few days. I have to say that quick referencing isn't that difficult though.

AllealAnd I can sort by teams on sizzling stats. I don't have to cross reference the column with the team color to make sense of the number I'm seeing.

Shift can be used to sort by multiple columns if you want to keep team order intact. For next update, option for sorting by team+damage by default will be added.

Even if you'd prefer some other stats plugin, logs.tf plugins can coexist with them on the server. I would appreciate if as many servers as possible would upload to logs.tf, as I'm planning to release monthly stats featuring data from tens of thousands of match logs which are uploaded monthly. These will more accurately reflect state of competitive TF2 if larger proportion of matches are included. (Spoiler: TF2 is alive)

I have updated logs.tf almost monthly since its release and I don't plan to stop any time soon. However, coming up with new features is getting more difficult, so for suggestions use http://logstf.idea.informer.com/ (thanks TF2Center).

I made this graph after reading "What happened to TF2?" thread, but it probably deserves to be here more. It shows how it's natural that things are a bit quieter during offseasons. And despite it being christmastime and offseason, a new record for unique players on a single day was made just 2 weeks ago.

Update is now live. It will take a day or two until updated plugins are released to public, so you will have to wait a bit for actually being able to utilize most of the new features. (EDIT: MedicStats obviously works already)

Meanwhile, here are some logs with new features:

KanecoWill these require F2 plugins installed on the server?

Yes, new features are implemented on F2's SourceMod plugin first and then likely ported over to TFTrue later.

KanecoAlso any chance you could look into amount of self heals? Asking specially because of black box, would be interesting to see how much a bb soldier heals himself on average.

This is actually implemented, but forgot to include it here.

There will be also work on expanding file upload API to allow stats to update after every round (making them semi-realtime).

Work continues with a new update. F2 has been doing some nice work with plugins, adding new and more detailed log events. Here are some of the upcoming stats and features for logs.tf:

  • Damage taken
  • Real headshots (instead of headshot kills)
  • Airshots
  • Weapon damages & accuracies
  • "Kills+Assists by class" table

New medic stats section:

  • Übercharge counts by type (uber/kritz/etc)
  • Average time after spawning before healing
  • Average time having 100% uber before using it
  • Deaths with 95-99% uber
  • Average uber length
  • Deaths within 20s after ubering
  • Uber advantages lost
  • Biggest uber advantage lost

Hopefully everything will be ready for release before the new year.

Starkit would be good if you could discount the healing of players on rollouts so equaliser rollouts don't give a really inflated heal percentage

Not counting heals until any damage is done? Could be possible.

EDIT: I've also encountered a server with a plugin that logs buffed heals, will look into that as well.

Moved the site to a new server. Because changes for .tf domains may propagate slowly, site can meanwhile be accessed here:

http://176.56.237.76/

Disk performance on old host was abysmal at times, making load times way too long randomly. The site is now running on SSDs so everything should load quickly.
