Failw1zardhttp://i.imgur.com/Uv3XOU8.png It even says matchmaking when you try to directly connect.

Says this for MvM Mann Up servers too. Nothing new here.

#21 Should I get a new HDD? in Hardware
flatlineSo what version should I DL if it only has 8.1/7/10? I would assume 8.1.

8.1, yes.

TechDudeI would assume that it'll work on 8 just fine too, since 8.1 is just a service pack.

Why don't you install the .1 update anyway??

8.1 is more than a service pack. It's actually an entirely new kernel version, and it's counted as its own release. It even uses a new WDDM version (1.3 as compared to 1.0 for vista, 1.1 for 7, 1.2 for 8 and 2.0 for 10) and uses its own license keys; a key for 8 will not work for 8.1, which is different than how service packs used to work (a 7 SP1 key couldn't be used to install plain 7 but a 7 key could be used to install 7 SP1 fresh).

#32 Good FPS, but doesn't feel like it in Q/A Help
yuki(I think?)

correct, the game basically execs itself twice by, for all intents and purposes, running a second graphics config before the autoexec to set dxlevel settings, even if there's no change. waste of time, and it also resets resolution or window options if you aren't using them as command line arguments. so ditch the resolution, full screen, and dxlevel arguments, and you'll speed up your load time.

tscThe direct link to the pictures seem to work for me, probably just some hotlinking prevention.

Doesn't work for me, and trying to view the info page on imageshack also doesn't show the image.

#12 CS:GO: Upgrade CPU or GPU? in Hardware
icyfrenzySetsulWhile ingame?
And you're sure you've got multicore rendering enabled?
when i'm ingame
http://i.imgur.com/841w2Iu.png

yes, i have multicore rendering enabled, core parking disabled, -thread 4, etc.

that literally doesn't seem possible

are you running fullscreen and tabbing out? do it in windowed mode so the game doesn't put itself to sleep when you're measuring it

there's no way it's using that little of both CPU and GPU

#12 what have i missed in a year of not playing in TF2 General Discussion
Benkaieraoverwatch is officially in beta and looks fun as hell
meanwhile valve is stalling on putting out matchmaking still
rip game
I can no longer count the number of games that were supposedly going to kill tf2 on both hands.

It's fucking Blizzard though and it's actually a good game.

I don't know if it'll kill TF2 but it WILL be successful unlike all the rest.

  1. Official competitive matchmaking confirmed, probably early-mid 2016
  2. "Contracts" that give you missions/quests to complete in-game, the Gun Mettle campaign is over now (first series of contracts) but a new one will start soon, plus there's a mini one for halloween right now
  3. Weapon skins, stat-trak, and inspect animations, we TF:GO now. Also unusual weapons, purely cosmetic but they have a few neat effects.
  4. Weapons can be picked up after being dropped on death, and equipped by their respective classes. This means you can change loadouts mid-life. Medium ammo packs also drop to compensate. Medi-guns retain their uber when dropped (usually), because of this weapon pickups are currently banned in all competitive leagues.
  5. Huge weapon rebalances, check here for more info. Most shitty weapons were fixed and most overpowered ones were rebalanced, almost everything is a vast improvement.

Performance is also shit for most people now thanks to skins, but Valve has been trying to improve performance patch by patch, so that's nice. Couple of new maps too, and a few new game modes - one is kind of like soccer, one involves grappling hooks and powerups, and another combines CP with CTF, involves killing robots in space and stealing points, kind of neat.

did i miss anything

moosepiFound the problem, the line above QuestItem_Identify_Expand in HudAnimations_tf.txt isn't commented out.

http://puu.sh/l2wF5/39bea0f686.txt should work (put in tf\custom\yaya\scripts)

will merge in the morning

the previous commit was rolled out without double checking that it worked, sry about that guys
