when i started in tf2 there were a lot of things i didn't understand, both concepts and terms, that can't really be summarized in the middle of a shoutcast. i think something along these lines, not necessarily hosted by me, would be a really good idea. now, if i DO host this, it's unlikely i'll be able to pay out of pocket for updates if eXtine, sal, or valve mention it and my bandwidth usage and system load go through the roof. so i think that if/when we decide to go forward with this, initially it should be what is essentially a closed beta: only a few users from the community allowed, and if we decide to open it to a broader audience, a way to pay monthly costs for the server.
