syntax highlighting for HUD code?

#9 What do you guys think of this font for a HUD? in Customization
NIU_NIUWhat's the point? Why did you pick this font in particular over the other two million, practically-identical condensed sans-serifs that are actually suited for purposes like these? Oswald seems like it'd be much better suited for web journalism and blogging; it looks as if it wasn't designed to be set in uppercase at such large sizes. Why not just instead choose some Helvetica Condensed knockoff and be done with it?

In this case you can use Bebase-Neue and League-Gothic both incredibly amasing fonts.

#1 Offering to Create HUD Websites in Customization

Hi everyone,

I'm a web designer (what I call my self) from Australia, I have been playing TF2 for a while and somewhat was involved with the HUD FluxHUD.

I came to the realization that the way HUDs are being presented is ugly and they deserve to be viewed and broadcasted to their audience in a much nicer visual way. If you consider GitHub and GoogleCode they get the job done but visually they don't suffice in presenting it. The idea behind the hosting is to have the HUD or the owner create a repository on GitHub and use the gh-pages feature to host the site.

The idea of it is to present it in a style that is simple yet understandable. It acts as a main home page for the HUD and has these following links:

Master Link to the download (Whether it be GitHub or GoogleCode), this will always be the latest release.
TFTV HUD thread (I consider this to be the main thread for the HUD, can be changed)
Direct link to GitHub or GoogleCode so people who want to download older commits or just browse the code without downloading full files.
Screen shot link (To imgur or another image hosting site or even based within the webpage)
A Steam profile link (Yes/No Feature) - Player Profile or Group Page

Its all done for free and I don't expect any compensation, it's more or less a hobby for me, a confidence builder and something to keep my skills busy.

The sites can be single page or multiple. Plugins work for gh-pages so plugins can be requested, features etc... The idea is to be simple yet sexy if that's how you could put it so try not to overload it with plugins or features. If the offers come I will update the thread with finished products.

Feel free to add me on steam to discuss and fill this out if you could it can make my job easier - https://www.dropbox.com/s/8yt3vfr4xrpbzfo/TF2%20HUD.docx.

Could you rename it to <playername-typeofwork> e.g. tstm-hud.docx.

Currently completed websites:

    FluxHUD - http://fluxxy.github.io/fluxhud
    MagicalKillaCow - http://www.haydn.is

#21 Teamfortress.tv Mobile App in TF2 General Discussion
ompI think your best bet here would be to speak with enigma regardless of what you do.

For a mobile application, you probably want a way to query the site using some form of API that returns data in JSON, XML or some other easily parsable format. It will get rather messy if you simply strip out data from the HTML files, especially as any changes could potentially break your application.

Similarly, if you create a mobile site, you probably want it to be part of the main site code, accessible through a subdomain or something of that sort. Otherwise, your site would have to act as a relay, with all data flowing in and out. This would result in additional latency and excess bandwidth use. Of course, you can use client-side JavaScript to reduce this effect, but that sounds messy and will probably not function as expected across the many available mobile browsers.

I don't think a project like this is feasible without adding some needed functionality to TF.tv.

Well as OMP said everything is going to have to run through tf.tv in one way or another, even if you were merely converting the sites to state to a mobile friendly version which is supported across numerous devices, you have a lot of aspects to take in of the devices and how they parse the information.

#9 Teamfortress.tv Mobile App in TF2 General Discussion

Up to you, it's your idea, my opinion is the mobile site, you could always use jQuery UI if your experience with HTML/CSS/jQuery isn't the best.

But then again I have no experience with apps for phones.

#7 Teamfortress.tv Mobile App in TF2 General Discussion

Wouldn't a mobile site be better, because you can then use media query frameworks and other stuff to target a large list of devices rather than only targeting say two?

But then again the mobile site version comes with cross-browser implementations and limitations and alike so it's 50/50...

#6 Custom Crosshairs Pixelated in Customization
Soup8Ether your Crosshair Scale or you have your mat_picmip to low, you need a -2-0 range in the picmip, if its higher than 0 it will be pixelated

This is your fix.

its just a reskinned ios 6 with a few new features nothing ground breaking

lol. calling it a "reskin" tells me you know absolutely nothing about design. they completely overhauled their human interface guidelines and design principles.

He is correct to some degree, ever since the iPod/iPhone came out, that's all they have essentially been doing until recently, adding one new built in app e.g. FaceTime - (Which had been around for a few years beforehand), little bit of a performance boost and branding it a complete new model without a number of major improvements so all the idiots flock and spend.

But that iOS7 interface does look sweet.
