The real question is why someone necro'd a thread so old and with so little content.

How far back are we talking?
I'd probably go with mackey
gecksGetawhalewasn't just about one person either
I generally stay out of this kind of stuff but I feel the need to say something here.
I'm going to take a guess and say that one of the people you're referring to is me. I say this because, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who responded to Thorin's tweet that stepped back from the community without saying a word.
To provide context, I was first mentioned by someone and then responded to the tweet.

Yes, I did leave the TF2 community without saying a word, and I apologize for that. The reason I stepped away is because I took at job at Next Generation Esports a couple months ago to work on their creative team. I contemplated saying something about leaving at the time, but for whatever reason I convinced myself not to and have regretted it since. If I could still be involved with TF2 I would be, I sadly just don't have the time anymore.
Even though other people such as dashner, mathsad, lange, david, truktruk, etc. could certainly explain spectating TF2 with more depth and clarity than myself, I don't see the issue in me at least offering assistance.
If I'm wrong and you weren't in part referring to me, then I genuinely apologize.
I always wondered about that. Congratulations on moving on to greater pastures.
Ice_Cold_LemonadeConkyat least the replies restore a bit of my faith in cs kidspretty sure those are just r/tf2 kids raiding

Artisanpasta and SolarLight are definitely tf2 guys. Don't know about the others.
TobNever made a thread myself and I got half a nerdstar at exactly 250 posts so I guess that confirmsNakadaI think I read somewhere you need 500 posts for 1 full starSo 1000 posts will get you 4 nerdstars even if you never make your own threads. Except if a lot of your comments get -fragged or you make threads that get a lot of +frags
I mean, you have 1/3 nerd stars, not 1/2

Comangliait's some factor of +frags, and number of posts you have. I know that for sure.
Other possible factors that I can only speculate about
Ratio of posts with significant +frags vs no frags or -frags
Number of posts with XX amount of + frags ex 50 or higher plus frags posts
Threads might give a bigger bonus than posts for all I know.
Pretty sure the 2 threads I have about my config account for close to 2 of my nerdstars.
NakadaI think I read somewhere you need 500 posts for 1 full star
Not quite true
http://www.teamfortress.tv/user/hamaham 17 posts nearly 1 star
http://www.teamfortress.tv/user/Dane 106 posts nearly 2 star
http://www.teamfortress.tv/user/Parapsych 48 posts nearly 2 star
Hamaham got that with that one thread about his father being the heavy. He got at least 400 upfrags from the different posts on that account, to my knowledge.
eeerekuso wins by default but this was supposed to be a shitpost about ingame loadouts smh

leviathanKavhow can dps over time possibly be higher if it has both a larger clip and less damage per clip than stock
the only things is has on stock are being able to hit closer to targets and range but that really doesnt make up for the lower dps in my experience
By more damage over time, i meant that it could hit lets say, a demo, with 3 rockets (at mid range), but still have two left to maybe hit a rocket on the med, and with the stock, you literally can jump in, hit two rockets max, and jump out. Also, the secondary slot is opened up since you don't have to use gunboats anymore.
It doesn't matter if I can kill you quicker with my stock than you can with the LL. You can't fire those rockets if you're dead.
BleghfuricavaiihnUpdate- Updated cp_snakewater_final1is this the new snakewater we've been playing recently or is it different? If it's the same one than it shows Valve is working with the comp scene to improve maps, which sounds pretty sweet
It's the new Snakewater most likely. When community maps are updated, they take the patch notes given to them by the map creator, and I'm guessing chojjie didn't pack any patch notes with the email to Valve.
FTFY
It would need a buff in damage as, currently, it has worse damage than almost every class in close quarters combat.
