#35 o my esea in TF2 General Discussion

the responses to these are always depressing b/c the way you all argue makes it sound like
either you all deal with a legitimately awful company, known to not really put much care into your existence, or everyone you know including your loved ones and your dog die

can we just kidnap robin walker to get valve to properly fund TF2 esports

please

#8 Statistics in TF2 General Discussion

this could help maybe

it's intended for fighting game usage, but it's customizable enough to work with pretty much anything, open sourced and all

set up something that scrapes ESEA for current stats and tosses that into streamcontrol, put it on some pretty graphics using flash, become the embodiment of big-name esports

I assumed ESEA already did this? unless you mean more stuff to work with + possibly a clearer way of showing it

e: could ESEA make an API that lets someone quickly get stats for certain things? from there you'd just make a text file from it, and then you point xsplit/OBS/whatev to that file

#56 5cp vs KOTH vs A/D: Map Variety Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

koth_king had some pretty bad performance issues last I remember it, but as a whole it seems like it'd be a fun map. while gravelpit makes for some entertaining plays (mostly on C), from a spectating perspective, koth's a lot more fun to me as a whole concept. if someone did a gravelpit_pro where 1/3 of the map wasn't as useless I'd be down tho

starry-WithADanceNumberis resetti in this one?
go ahead and close the game without saving

I don't wanna try it D:

he pops up once and assuming you do nothing never again, because the fuckers took out his base of operations, from there you can either fund the reset center and it'll be business as usual, or you tell him to get fucked and you never have to care again

I already funded it, because apparently I'm a horrible person to myself

(there's a really easy way to get money that involves the island btw GET THAT MONEY)

#83 The Unpopular Opinion in TF2 General Discussion

I'd try not to, but it gets tiring to hear unrelenting cynicism from things that aren't even confirmed but vaguely implied.

You are not making an "unpopular opinion" by making the same laughable end-of-times freakout statements as everyone else

#81 The Unpopular Opinion in TF2 General Discussion

quick reminder that your entire belief as to what valve "wants" is actually just vague retellings from people who don't work at valve, and ideas for 6v6 from high-level players.

no wait shit, see those half-known implications? that probably means valves wants you assassinated, ok

#113 New kind of 6v6? in TF2 General Discussion

Again: I say take a dive for it. Make a custom items_game.txt for a server to test this out. If everything somehow fucks up, nothing in 6s changes, but we don't entirely know if it fucks up until people sit down and play it.

#78 New kind of 6v6? in TF2 General Discussion

Almost every single argument against this hinges on the idea that, somehow, if we were to try this (the keyword being T R Y), somehow 6s will crack into its own death.

As opposed to, say, we just go back to the 6s we've always had, and a grand total of zero (0) things change. Nah, the end result is probably the heat death of the universe, because skepticism and cynicism are apparently one and the same now.

...I don't think people realize that when it's said that valve can change things, it should be proceeded with "yes, even that". That's theoretical, of course, because how the christ would you fix 2fort, but it's very much a thing that could possibly happen in this world of candy and gumdrops.

#3 State of the Game in TF2 General Discussion

It's going to change, of course. Metagames change, regardless of whether or not it seems like it. The question is, is it going fast enough for that to be interesting? And honestly, that's... not the case, regardless of if you think that's a good or bad thing. It's very much slightly nudging on its own, meaning a lot of 6s is based on execution.

It's difficult to argue for changes, because it seems like people believe that to have the chance of causing complete anarchy, kicked dogs and crying children, but yeah, I wouldn't mind some changes. But only small ones. Creating a massive change to an entire competitive environment isn't healthy, it should only be modified slowly and surely.

...If that's how you view strategy, then I really don't know what to tell you.
