Also, please spread the word that registration is live. I mass-messaged everyone about it, but I still want to make sure no one is in the dark about this.

dangoAre you gonna keep a looking to drive/looking for drive list again Fragile?
Looking for drive from Ottawa
I will, but I'll do that at some point this weekend.
It was also a little hard to manage last time, so please make it clear when you've found a ride or if your car is now full.

REGISTRATION IS LIVE. 44 early bird tickets are left as of this very second.
Post that you paid and I'll put you down on the original post as paid.
I just want to echo this once more, just so people don't mindless buy tickets.
We have no plans of doing refunds or ticket transfers this year. Please make sure that you can actually go before you buy your ticket.
The first 50 people to sign up will pay a discounted price of $50. After that, it's a flat fee of $60.
Also, when you buy your ticket, make sure to say "yes" to the question "Are you participating in TF2?" This is important due to us needing a good estimate on how much space we need to lay out for the TF2 players.
niveriHow fast do tickets sell out usually?
You'll have plenty of time. I think it sold out about two weeks before the event last time, and that was when registration opened in April.
Hngif TheFragile doesn't come through with buying the g400, hmu.
I live in Canada btw, idk why my flag is korean lol
Already bought the 518 and g400 from him. :(
meb, I'll buy the 518 and the g400.
DeathyWhat's everybody's matchmaking rank? I'm Gold 4
I'm avoiding matchmaking because of how bad it is right now. From what I can tell, it matches you against random opponents and not any of similar skill, plus there's a pretty bad problem with cheaters.
GeknaiirTheFragileGot a silver from the elite case.youre the luckiest motherfucker ive ever seen because every time im opening cases i land on the lead in between a cobalt and silver or some shit
Then I opened about five normal cases. Lead, Bronze, Bronze, Gold, Cobalt. lol?
I was quite lucky, because what you described has already happened to me a ton of times already, haha.
MartyCan I get a refund if I can’t go?
We are not doing refunds this year.
Can I get my ticket transferred to someone else?
We are not doing ticket transfers this year.
i feel like this is gonna turn off a lot of people from going
Right now, we have no plans of doing refunds / ticket transfers. We spent countless hours doing refunds / ticket transfers last year. It was an awful headache, and it took up more than half of my time being the middleman in those situations. On the GXL website, we will have an actual hard number of how many seats we will have left. If you aren't sure about going, then don't buy your ticket until you're sure.
Benk's reply addresses my exact thoughts on this:
BenkMaybe a few but i'd guess it will take a lot of work off of the coordinators to not have to deal with all that. Last year we had pretty good notice as to how close they were to selling out so you could wait as long as possible if you weren't sure you could go..
Worst case you throw away like 45 bucks not really a huge deal.
malaI'll be taking cookie requests starting now
Everything you made last time was delicious af.
botmodeI'm currently 17 (and will be when I register) but I will be 18 in time for the event (birthday is october 12)
do I still need to fill out the parental consent form
nope, you'll be fine.
Got a silver from the elite case.
Then I opened about five normal cases. Lead, Bronze, Bronze, Gold, Cobalt. lol?
kaidusWhy are you talking about changing the NA server? The NY server gave the most interesting games you could hope to get in these circumstances, if you put it any further west then not only are the EU server games horribly one sided, the NA ones are as well now. These matches aren't about providing fair circumstances, they are about producing interesting tf2 to get people to open their wallets so we actually can have fair matches on lan...
Basically this. There's no need for us to have a more "fair" advantage by making anyone from EU play on a Chicago server. NY gives a reasonable ping to everyone, given the circumstances.
Zesty I think people in west NA probably get around 90-100 to east coast?
Correct. Bdonski and Decimate get roughly 90-100 ping to east coast servers.
SideshowChill_ColinsServers and map picks same as last time I assume?
We're trying to improve on it actually, since the EU map was a total roll. Having 2 players on NA with 200 ping, 4 players with 100 and everyone from EU on 20 isn't fair. Not many other options though...open to suggestions!
I dunno, there probably isn't a better solution. It would be reasonable if all of our players lived in the northeast of NA (like most of nerdrage pinged the same to most/all locations). The ping discrepancies suck, but it's just a showmatch after all. As long as it brings attention to the i55 fundraisers and the i55 LAN itself, everyone is content.
