Sorry for the confusion, the post for the update went up and was not checked until now, this update deserves further documentation and explanation.

For health options, make sure

  • scripts/hudanimations_manifest.txt
  • scripts/hudlayout.res
  • resource/ui/hudplayerhealth.res
  • resource/ui/spectatorguihealth.res
  • resource/ui/targetid.res

all call on the correct #base file.

For charge options, make sure

  • scripts/hudanimations_manifest.txt
  • scripts/hudlayout.res
  • resource/ui/hudmediccharge.res

all call on the correct #base file.

The easiest way to install options if you don't know what you are doing is copying the contents of your option of choice (the resource and scripts folders) and dropping them into the Mannterface folder

An00bisAmazing hud, just a few things

-like riot said, my health colors turn red/orange indicating low health when I'm hardly hurt at all. like starting at 130-140 health on demo. is there somewhere I can change the ranges for white vs red health?
-anyway to make the scoreboard 12v12, and move it to the top of the screen rather than the bottom? I still mostly pub.
-at the round end when it shows the three topscores for the round, it doesn't show the classes they were on. any way to add that?
-rayshud had a thing where you could press "e" as a shortcut for "continue" when you joined a server, and to edit loadout when you opened the class switch menu. any chance of adding that?

again great job on the hud, i love the tf2 style

These are all pretty easy to do. An update for those things besides the scoreboard will be up some time today.

LulzyHow to enable Knuckles' crosshairs?

Go to Mannterface/scripts/hudlayout.res and make "enabled" and "visible" from "0" to "1".
Make the "labelText" value any letter from the chart. The chart is the link commented next to it. For reference, it is this.

Go to the 4:3 folder in the Mannterface folder and copy scoreboard.res and paste it into Mannterface/resource/ui.
Even if you are not running 4:3, this scoreboard works on all resolutions.

athairusLooking forward to 16:10 support so I can actually use this!

We are currently cleaning up the HUD and starting to make different options to be included for users: things like health crosses, different animations, and other fun stuff like that. These are likely to be facilitated through 4Plug. Through 4Plug we can make the HUD play nice with other resolutions.

(This is a busy week, so do not expect an update this week.)

You can use the HudChat element in Mannterface\scripts\hudlayout.res to reposition the chat.
The scoreboard thing can be easily fixed. We will also update the 4:3 scoreboard (as we have been neglecting that) in that same update, most likely coming out this afternoon.

If it weren't for you, this HUD would be nowhere near being what it is in it's current state. Thank you so much, guy.

GrimScorpi have to pass on the hud sadly, after using it since u released it, i have to switch :C,
i really love the hud though

i play a lot on jump maps and the voting menu pops up a lot,
its just way to big for me, i try'ed not caring about it for a while but a huge box on screen while jumping is just to much for me sorry :C

i'm gonna keep updated on this hud though,
its the best hud i've seen so far, keep up the great work

We will try to find a way around this (when time allows), thank you for staying around to see the updates!

idemisedI'll try to edit/post screenshots later, but for the moment, when one presses the "Backpack" button, all that happens is the "Back" button pops up. There's literally no backpack screen.

When we have the time (right now, unfortunately, we do not by any means), we will try to rewrite the backpack menus from scratch.

For now the hotfix would be deleting these files:

For the first one, that is normal. Medi Guns that have ridiculously long names make the HUD weird out. We can try to fiddle with widths and font sizes to make it play nice.

The second one is very strange. Try reinstalling the HUD?

idemisedAny support for Mac/Linux? The backpack menus aren't working on either.

We do not have access to any computers running Mac or Linux.

To make the menus work at all, you have to delete any files in the HUD that are making it look weird to revert back to the stock files.

Could you provide screenshots of how they look?

We are now working on an update that hopefully will address most of your concerns and fixing some menu things!!

To enable transparent viewmodels, go to Mannterface\scripts\hudlayout.res.
The second thing from the top is the transparent viewmodels. Make it both visible and enabled.
This only works in DX9! It just makes your screen white in DX8.

Also, the inspect panel in the deathcam seems to be a TF2 problem, not the HUD's problem.

We don't know about the Medic healer thing, we will try to fiddle with it.

So 2 days ago, we posted the project on the TF2 subreddit so we could get more traffic. More eyes looking at a project means more people laying eyes on possible problems, which effectively makes this project better and more useable by everyone.
So this update is fixing complaints from this extra traffic.

Possibly.
If this project makes a performance impact, it's negligible.
If we get a vast amount of people requesting it, we will release a static version, similar to how the 4:3 was handled. Because that is then several options, we can make it compatible with 4Plug.

If anyone wants to make a 4Plug thumbnail logo for us, that would be great! We, of course, will credit you with it in a readme.
