#53 This recent wave of "donation drives" in TF2 General Discussion

I personally think it makes more sense to put money into prizes or production than players themselves. If they think its worth the money, they'll go to the event, just like any other eSport.

maybe im the bad guy for thinking people should do stuff themselves? its just my personal opinion. people can throw their money at whatever they like.

#16 Good NON-MECHANICAL keyboard? in Hardware
ProSkeezThey're literally all the same

Not really.
Number of keypresses depend on the PCB a lot. Manufacturers use the same circuit for a lot of keys and thats when multiple keypress problems appear.
For example I used to have this cheap keyboard where i couldn't crouch-jump if I was holding W + A or D at the same time.
Really frustrating.
You can't really say "Oh well it's not mechanical so its all the same"

#10 what have i missed in a year of not playing in TF2 General Discussion

They also updated the hidden Competitive MM menu

http://i.imgur.com/DDS3cx9.jpg

aieraoverwatch is officially in beta and looks fun as hell
meanwhile valve is stalling on putting out matchmaking still
rip game

I feel they should add Overwatch to the stream list. It's more similar to TF2 than Dota 2, thats for sure

#21 TF2 update for late 10/29/15 (10/30/15 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion
RunawayI believe the update changed flares going back to full-crits as well.

Yup.
Also fixed the problem where headshots wouldnt work on soldiers with the escape plan and would just do bodyshot damage

#226 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion

CPU and overclock: AMD FX-8350 @4.00 GHz no turbo, no OC
Graphics Card: ASUS Radeon HD 7750 //Same chip than R7 250
RAM: 12 GB Kingston DDR3 RAM @ 1866 Hz
Driver version:15.20.1062.1004
dxlevel (default is 90): 81
Resolution: 1024x768 @85Hz fullscreen
FPS configs: Chris highframes

Show Content
ASUS HD 7750 Underclocked //default values of AMD HD 7750 (800Hz, 1125 Memclock)
DirectX 8: 2639 frames 21.332 seconds 123.71 fps ( 8.08 ms/f) 9.005 fps variability
DirectX 9: 2639 frames 21.003 seconds 125.65 fps ( 7.96 ms/f) 9.678 fps variability

ASUS HD 7750 @820Hz no OC //asus version. slight OC by default (820 Hz, 1150 Memclock)
DirectX 8: 2639 frames 21.477 seconds 122.88 fps ( 8.14 ms/f) 10.298 fps variability
DirectX 9: 2639 frames 21.039 seconds 125.43 fps ( 7.97 ms/f) 9.044 fps variability

ASUS HD 7750 @850 Hz OC + MemClock @ 1180 Hz (around 5% over defaults, what I use)
DirectX 8: 2639 frames 21.087 seconds 125.15 fps ( 7.99 ms/f) 9.010 fps variability
DirectX 9: 2639 frames 21.162 seconds 124.70 fps ( 8.02 ms/f) 8.982 fps variability

I guess more isn't always good, or maybe because of how short the test is the results vary.
The graphics card isn't the best part of my system by far

kiler4funUpdate. with r7 250x, I got around 230 fps with variability of more or less 11 fps.

Nice. R7 250X has the same chip than HD 7770

Edit: spoilered results

#149 MAJOR TF2 update for 10/28/15 (Scream Fortress 7) in TF2 General Discussion
flamedx8 is arguably worse for fps gain since gun mettle

dx9 has been better for me even before gun mettle but by a very small difference

Mr_WillThey also updated the Competitive Matchmaking menu!

The chances of the next big update being MM are higher than ever

Eitherway, I think the update totally broke lobbies. Everyone is on the civilian pose, can't shoot, cant do anything.

eliAny chance we can get a quake live stream list? Lots of pros have been streaming recently, would be cool to have it along with the other games up there.

some guy from dignitas was playing it quite a lot but that was time ago

#9 Monitor suggestions in Hardware

I got my CRT for 5€ and its the lowest input lag I've ever had.
When you try it for the first time its a bit wierd because you feel like stuff happens sooner than usual
But yeah I do agree its not for everyone specially if you don't feel like carrying a 20 KG display to LAN
Color quality is pretty awesome tho
