#1507 PC Build Thread in Hardware

#1506
All stock cooling, so heat is most likely it.

I've had the PC for 3 years so yeah they should be plugged in, even in back mobo ports it doesn't work as of late.

I'm still looking to buy a new GPU regardless, looking into it further i might just use it for a second monitor, also in my drivers I can choose what processes physx but it still seems like it has such little impact, always thought it was pretty taxing but I never looked into it, thanks for that info.

In short tho I'm mainly just looking for what parts are good as I've been wanting to rebuild for ages

currently I'm looking at these parts but I still need a case and a motherboard and I have no clue about them, thanks for the info though, going to try and get crash logs tomorrow and test my RAM while I'm at it.

I edited the post so that should answer most of these questions, sorry.

for the things that doesnt answer though

SetsulYour pc is definitely not dying as whole. Figure out what's wrong and fix it.

I've been planning on updating my pc stuff for awhile now anyways but the main issues are;
-temp problems
-front ports on case don't work
-doesnt take audio input and i have no fucking clue why even after ages of trying to fix, tried multiple mics in ports and all i get is a fucked noise every now and then of some movement or just no noise (might be back ports on mobo)
-total freezes while I'm playing or if I have like chrome + spotify open where i can't do anything but manually turn pc off (probs a ram or cpu heat issue)

SetsulMaybe replace the RM650 since it's literally the PSU antichrist. It would've been overpriced if it actually worked. But it took Corsair two recalls and revisions and one manufacturer switch to even get it working.

tbh in 3 years I've had no problems, but I might take your word for it and replace it anyway.

SetsulAlso why would you want 2 different GPUs?

Because I'm planning on getting a new one regardless and I see no harm in having dedicated render/ physx card

#1499 PC Build Thread in Hardware

making a new pc using some of the parts i currently have

the things I currently have are;
Case: BitFenix Shinobi
CPU: Intel I7 4770K
RAM: some single 8gb stick
GPU: Msi 770 twin frozr
PSU: Corsair RM650
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme 3
SSD: Samsung Evo 120gb
HDD: Caviar Green 2tb

notes;

  • in au
  • going to get it built and idk where would build it (suggestions helpful)
  • need a quiet case with good ventilation and a good cooling for everything else without having to water cool (my room gets a lot of sun and heats up)
  • planning to keep my current GPU in my pc as well as the new one so I'm not sure what this effects
  • budget is roughly $1500 aud but it can go up or down if theres a good enough reason, dont mind saving money
  • need 16gb of ram

main things I'm looking for are cpu cooler, case, mobo and ram.
hmu on steam if you need to
