#25 TeamFortressTV is looking for talent! in News
MapleGentlemanJonDavidTheWinDon't forget this kind of stuff goes well on CVs/resumes. When looking for internships last year I could talk about VTV/TFTV experience at every one.Employer: Wow, this guy is a genuine nerd
I was doing HR for a small firm and interviewed someone for an internship. When we asked about his organizational skills and scheduling, he told us that he was a WoW guild leader and told us stories about getting everyone into raids on time and making sure they knew what they were doing.

So did he get the internship?
Or rather, how did the rest of your team feel about his response?

#62 college acceptence? in Off Topic
miwoThis is my plan.

I have been out of school and in the work force for a couple years now. What I'm wondering is, do those schools consider "extra curricular activities" in the same way that schools do for non transfer (high school) students? I'm trying to figure out how to swing CC and work financially and I'm wondering if it is worth it to quit and get a more flexible job so that I can do things that would be considered "extra curricular" in the eyes of college administrators -- GPA and test scores aside of course.

I remember college admissions in high school and it seemed ridiculous to me how much emphasis colleges put on extra curricular activities.

I will be shooting for Electrical or Civil Engineering, depending on my math aptitude.

Just want to make sure I'm clear on your question - you're asking if extracurriculars are as important for admission to CC for you as they are for students coming directly out of high school?

#11 Majors and jobs and stuffs in Off Topic
TgbSo there is a thread for college acceptance so why not a thread about majors and what you plan to do and all. I am sure there is plenty of comp sci guys and all in here what else? I personally am looking into entrepreneurship with a minor in finance and hope to own my own business someday. I am also looking into petroleum engineering depending on how oil prices and all goes. I am kind of thinking about doing pre med and becoming a cardiologist since I had heart surgery as a kid and have been fascinated with hearts but that is my last choice. One of my top picks would be mechanical engineering and becoming a golf club designer or like a sports management or sports advertisement major and work in the golf industry. What about you guys?

that's an ambitious journey you have ahead

#39 Highschool stories in Off Topic

At the time I didn't think this was weird but our Latin teacher used to write his own stories in Latin about characters being molested and drowned in fish ponds. He also slept at the school overnight sometimes because he lived a bit far. A couple of years after I graduated he got pink slipped and everyone was surprised since he was such a well-liked teacher. Looking back at it now though.....I can see why he was fired...

#111 Hottest TF2 chicks in Off Topic

As a female competitive video gamer, this thread is a betrayal of trust and an insult to sensibility. To think that women can be objectified in this way is disgusting and truly indicative of how far humanity still has to go for true equality. I had expected more from the Team Fortress 2 community.

It seems that the annihilation of a woman's personality, individuality, will, character, is prerequisite to male sexuality. Men are rapists, batterers, plunderers, killers; these same men are religious prophets, poets, heroes, figures of romance, adventure, accomplishment, figures ennobled by tragedy and defeat. Men have claimed the earth, called it 'Her'. Men ruin Her. Men have airplanes, guns, bombs, poisonous gases, weapons so perverse and deadly that they defy any authentically human imagination.

We identify the agents of our oppression as men.......ALL MEN HAVE OPPRESSED WOMEN.

This brings me to my final point and conclusion. In order for equality to exist, every woman must be a lesbian.

definitely would help to put examples of popular mice under each category, since people have different perceptions of what a "small" mouse is

#23 my dad thinks im a fuckup in Off Topic

your parents are treating you this way because of your past behavior. Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior..! if you are not able to leave their household and become independent, then you will need to prove to your parents that you ARE deserving of their trust. Humor them by being a good boy for awhile, and continue to do your art (which is really amazing by the way, and you definitely have a gift). Show them that you're serious about repairing your relationship with them and that you're serious about an art career. Otherwise it's gonna be a loooong road before they get off your back.

#24 lft in Recruitment (looking for team)
DeetrpascalI don't see anything wrong with his sniping in games. If his sniping is helping the team then what's wrong with it? I can understand why it would stop pugs from being fun, but from my experience he doesn't snipe as much as he used to. He can be serious about the game but I haven't noticed it to be damaging or hurtful. Again, disclaimer, this is just my personal experience from pugs with him.
The general consensus is not that he's some shitty player who only plays sniper, it's that it's annoying when somebody breaks rules and ruins everybody else's fun in a PUG and he seems to do that a lot.

Also he's some shitty player who only plays sniper
