Ond_kajaI think that a lot of people here are judging granary based on a weak froyotech's performances on that map. They were never comfortable on it, it was by far their worst map, and they also weren't as good (as a team) as they have been previously. I haven't seen a boring game on it in ETF2L this season, I just think that froyo made it look super awkward. Give it another chance!
Sideshowbtw that was my opinion on ondkaja's account, I'm sure his opinions are far less coherent and revolve mainly around the ability to outstrat people on granary
Just for the record, I disagree with the opinion you posted on my acc, ty!
Thanks to everyone who was at the event. Especially production which made a good result from a difficult situation.

DarkdwarfGo kaja!
tack :)
Dunno if I should laugh or cry...
King_GimliSideshow it's so ridiculously unlikely that I hadn't even considered itwas just food for thought, like i said, its just travel that gonna be a pain in the ass, im flying to Gatwick and then Copenhagen, then border crossing on land into Sweden. SO many borders.
Oh no, you might have to show your passport when crossing from Denmark. How massively inconvenient.
I kinda like the enclosed area on the cap becuse it gives an opportunity to block really agressively. I think a better solution would be to reduce the cap time.
Hallowrofl are you saying sideshow is holding permzillas dh experience hostage to manipulate etf2l????
Not going to call out anyone by name, the ones who are responsible will know. Let's just restore the equilibrium of the map pool by not trying to bypass the entire process of getting a new map into the rotation, and leave Gravelpit out of the map pool, for now.
Hallowlets play obscure guys, i'll slightly modify the cap times and it'll be dreamhack ready!
Not before you present an ultimatum to ETF2L to either include the map in the next season's map pool or it will be played at Dreamhack. (Not even joking, this actually happened)
VaskieAre there any specific reasons why we Gravel Pit (even if a new version) are going to be played (play-tested really) on such a big event ? Doesn't make much sense in my head.
One of the admins of the tournament has a conflict of interest and wants to put his own version of Gravelpit in. In this version of Gravelpit, he haphazardly tweaks the timings in an attempt to fix the issues of the map. These fixes are based on an incorrect conclusion from the gameplay of an entirely different era, with a completely different whitelist. So in the end these supposed fixes will fall short because it didn't solve any of the underlying problems of the map, just swept them under the rug to postpone the map's inevitable rejection by the community.
So in an attempt to stifle the voice of the players and further postpone the inevitable death of this iteration of Gravelpit, this tournament admin will apparently shoehorn his untested beta version of the map in the tournament, and force the teams to playtest it in a LAN environment where thousand of dollars are at play. All this is done under the pretense that the map will be amazing to spectate because of offclasses, but given the previously mentioned conflict of interest, it is questionable at best whether this is his genuine motive.
Queue system for slots isn't a good idea because it slows down the start of lobbies since people would rather elect to queue for a scout spot rather than add up as medic or demo. TF2Pickup used to have a similar system and there were like 10+ people queuing for a scout spot or something ridiculous like that.
