aieraHow are people whining about teams forming just to win qualifiers? How do your high prem teams lose to randomly formed pugteams for 1 day tourneys lmao.
froyotech with 2 upgrade mercs lost to a high/lowprem mix in the first qualifier.

WARHURYEAHmaybe next time you swill "smash" them during a game that actually matters as well.
you are pretty good at winning when it doesn't matter... i55 group stages, i52 up until the grand finals etc.
there's literally no incentive to play unless you are the best team, at which point you can barely fund yourself to LANs without fundraisers. but to be the best you have to put a lot of time and effort into the game, except putting a lot of time and effort into the game is barely worth it in the first place.
if you want to see teams becoming better, there has to be an actual incentive to do the boring stuff in playing the game (organising, practising, team talks etc.). i've done them over and over again and after 7 years of playing this game i came third in prem which granted me an amazing amount of €200 which can fund 1/10 of our lan trips on budget+ (if the money were paid out BEFORE the LAN season, which is unlikely by ETF2L standards). i realise if i win this AMAZING prize of €1000 + win s23+24 + dreamhack, there is going to be a total of like €4000, at which point you can MAYBE even afford to book hotels during your lan trips. now was that worth the amount of time you put into the game to actually become the best? probably not.
if you think that becoming the best in the game is actually worth it, you are delusional. this isn't some pro esport, i play the game because i think it's fun, and although i WANT to become the best, i neither want or can put hours on end into this game because i actually have other stuff do in my life.
now can you idiots PLEASE stfu about the "state of tf" or whatever, I don't play the game for a living and you have no rights to complain about the standard of gameplay or production quality if you don't do anything yourself to try to improve the situation (maybe make a team that can beat the prem teams, except you can't because you're also fucking terrible).
Completely missed the target audience with this game, lol.
Terrible change, Sunshine is a good map
1. Admirable
2. Permzilla
3. b3nny
4.
PhiFastlane, Foundry, Freight, and Obscure in the map pool but no Sunshine? :(
What's wrong with Sunshine?
Probably just included most official CP maps for some reason.
smziI also dont get why people already talk like uhu Suave is never gonna show up despite the fact that several sources already said that they are interested, even Mike said that he would ditch perilous in case we are going.
Well unless he gets a call from his boss
smziThere are still 2 more cups to go, so teams that deserve it will get their spot/money for DHS
Suave attending DHS will depend on the prizepool for the lan (costs/returns should be somewhat balanced) and on the availability of certain players, because none of us is interested to go with a mediocre team and battle it out for 2nd or 3rd place
Kaidus did a good job but calling carry players like starkie a debuty is a bold move ;)
To answer your final note i do not think that any of us is interested in creating a team from scratch cuz that takes to much effort and time that (speaking for myself) i am not willing to put into this game anymore. I am trying to help out existing teams atm for example talking to AMS about roster issues etc but thats pretty much it.
We all had a lot of fun playing the cup yesterday and it might have ignited a spark for a couple of players.
You got €1000 so you could fund your travels so DHS, basically a free vacation. You are guaranteed the 4th place prize money at DHS so even if you come dead last (unlikely regardless of the roster), you would still probably not be that far behind, regardless of the roster you put up (assuming you aren't missing too many people).
If you don't go, nobody might be able to take your place at DHS without the funding to go. You say that teams don't deserve money if they don't win, but the money isn't actually profit. It all goes to travel support, and even then people still have to pay out of their own pockets to go to LAN and compete. It puts an unreasonable pressure on the team that gets invited in your place to pay out of their own pockets because they have no funding.
Now that team won't be us because we will be absolutely wrecking LEGO in the last qualifier.
nykLightstrikerIn my opinion they'd be making a huge mistake to stop playing right before i58. They should see whether they can compete with the best before they disappear into an inferior game forever.nykIs there an asian superteam? I don't know the first thing about asiaFortress, but I'm interested in finding out if they do make an appearance
As far as I know, many asian players that were planning on going to i58 (creep, kusoyotech members) have retired from tf2 to play Overwatch. There is a slim chance of them going to i58, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
I can't say I follow much of AsiaFortress but if the grand finals that were played a few weeks ago are an accurate representation of their skill, they would not have much chance to succeed internationally. Makes sense for them to quit while they're ahead.
