we should be able to look at the successes that Castro had (literacy, health care, woman's rights) without lionizing him to the point of ignoring the complete breakdown of civil society and suppression of opposition that he created
we should be able to admit that some Cubans in Miami are entirely justified in their hatred of Castro, while others were partially culpable for the situation in the country as the elites before him
